Chapter 13

No, no, no, no,no! This can not be happening right now, it's too soon! He just kissed me and it felt as if he touched my soul.

I was freaking out. I can not allow myself to get lost in him. It's for his future benefit and mine. He's perfect, I'm not. We do not belong together! He is just so, so intimidating and powerful and I'm just me.

I have to get out of this place, right now. All the spooning and neck sniffing and kissing (well the one kiss) I just know it won't be long until I cave and give in and well submit.

I mean before I know it he'll be dragging me off to who knows where and forcing me to leave Chris, Ginger and Adam behind. They are my family and Adam has come to mean so much to me. I can't just leave them, and that's exactly what I know will happen if I continue to allow Xavier to kidnap me.

I'm leaving.

With my mind made up I grabbed my backpack and shoved a few of my stuff that psycho, possessive Xavier stole and strode to the window.

Looking down I noticed I was about two stories high up from the ground. If I was a human I would probably die if I decided to jump but as a werewolf I could possibly break a leg or arm.

Opening the widow I swung one leg over it and then the other. I slowly stood up on the seal of the window and closing my eyes I jumped. Just before I hit the ground I rolled and surprisingly no bones broke!

I looked out for any guards and there weren't any, hallelujah! I sprinted into the forest straight ahead of me and took of like a bullet.

I had no idea where the forest lead but it was away from the mansion and Xavier so I continued to go.

I didn't even bother shifting into my wolf because she was utterly furious with me for leaving our mate and I knew if I did shift she'd have the upper hand and run right back into Xavier's arms.

I was genuinely surprised at the lack of guards out here I mean surely there should be some patrolling the perimeters but perhaps Xavier was running low on men in Black. Who knows, who cares, I'm not complaining.

I'm pretty sure I had been running at full speed which was for a werewolf about as fast as a car for about twenty minutes when all of a sudden I was knocked to the ground.

It was like déjá vu all over again with the whole almost car accident thing except I knew for certain that the person who knocked me down was not Xavier.

I couldn't move. The person who I soon realised was a male werewolf was so heavy on top of me it felt as if my ribs would crack come to think of it I think a few did crack.

The fact that he took me down while I was running at such a fast speed didn't help either but seeing as he was in his wolf form meant he was obviously faster and it was probably pretty easy for him.

My vision was blurry and I could just make out his disgusting snout in my face. I could feel his claws ripping into my shoulders as he held me down.

I was in pain. My head wouldn't stop spinning and I couldn't breath with his huge wolf body on top of me but I knew I had to do something or he'd most likely kill me.

I felt my wolfs hackles rise as we were now threatened and she kicked right into survival mode.

The shift began. Even through all of our pain we shifted right underneath the wolf pinning us.

My vision in wolf form was far clearer and our healing was faster thankfully. I growled low in my throat and bit his brown snout until blood spilled and he yelped. This gave us the advantage my wolf and I wanted and he released his hold on our shoulders.

We pushed him off us and once he re-gained his balance he sneered at us, fur puffed out and began to circle us.

Challenge accepted mutt.

We dove into each other and everything happened so fast. Before I knew it he had bitten into my right shoulder and I felt it go slack. But we remained calm and got a hold of his ear which we bit clean of.

He was slightly shocked and it gave us the second we needed to strike him with our paw. Blood began to pour from his abdomen were we had struck him and soon enough we were on top of him our snout right in his face.

The tables had turned.

We growled until he submitted and once he did we let out a wild howl.

We stayed on top of him for a few more seconds and then suddenly the biggest wolf we had ever seen stepped lethally into our line of sight.

It had the blackest coat I had ever seen and the bluest of eyes which weirdly looked a lot like my wolfs eyes.

We smelt him and we instantly knew it was our mate.

My wolf was loosing it all she strangely wanted to do was rub herself all over him but when he looked at us, fury practically pouring out of his eyes she got off of the brown wolf and bowed to him, showing him our neck.

He walked powerfully, muscled flexing straight to our attacker and looked at him. The brown wolf shifted into his human form and immediately guards who must have come with Xavier stepped out of their hiding spots and hand cuffed him, they dragged him away and left just me and my mate together alone.

For a second he just stared at us then he turned around and walked behind some tress.

Is that it ? No lecture no nothi-

Xavier walked back into my line of sight as a human who I realised walked away to change into his human form and put on a pair of shorts.

I almost drooled at the sight of him. His toned body was truly a sight to behold. I think I could of looked at him all day. My eyes kept travelling down to his chest and his what looked to be a eight pack no joke.

' Shift ' Xavier demanded.

At the sound of his deep voice I immediately broke away from my staring and looked around the forest. I didn't want to shift in front of him because I had no clothes to put on and no way in hell was I going to get naked in front of him.

' I said shift Victoria' he demanded again in an even more furious voice.

I decided to lay down with my head on my paws and close my eyes. I was merely allowing my sore body to heal and to rest. He can just wait.

I could hear growling noises and I just knew I had pushed his buttons. I'm not going to lie I was slightly scared. I had run away, got into a fight which on my behalf wasn't my fault and now I was disobeying him. Not good, not good at all.

Before I knew it I felt strong hands take a hold of my snout. I snapped my eyes wide open and growled at him.

' Shift!' Xavier commanded in his Alpha voice which shouldn't of have worked on me because he wasn't my Alpha but it did and I immediately shifted.

Maybe it was because he was my mate?

I cried out at the pain I felt from my chest and my shoulders and tried to cover as much of my body as I could from him.

I brought my knees up to my chest and wrapped my arms around them. I vaguely looked at him and saw anger and pain.

I could understand the anger but the pain?

' Where are you hurt?' Xavier softly asked while taking a hold of my face in his hands.

I decided not to be difficult about this and just answer him for once.

' Well I can see clearly now so the hit my head took must of healed along with the claw marks on my shoulders but it still hurts to move my left arm and I think a few of my ribs broke. ' I answered looking away from him.

I could hear him grinding his teeth and looked at him confused.

' Are you angry at my answer? ' I asked not understanding his sudden anger.

' No, of course not. I am angry at that mutt for simply laying a finger on you and right now all I want to do is rip his head from his body.' Xavier said looking directly at me.

I was shocked for a moment and didn't know how to reply to that so I lamely said,

' Oh, well you should see what I did to him.'

He looked slightly amused then got all angry again.

' Why?' he said

' Why what ?' I asked.

' Why did you run away?' He sounded pained and I felt something inside of me break at his pain.

' Xavier as much as I know you are going to deny it you did take me from my home, my parents, my friends, I mean my friend and I won't allow you to simply keep me from them. ' I said looking into those beautiful grey eyes of his.

' I admit it was sudden but it was for your own benefit. You could of died today.' He whispered the last part as if he could not believe it.

I just sighed not wanting to continue this conversation.

' But I didn't.'

' That's not the point. Now come, I am taking you inside and I am going to attend to your injuries ' He said.

' Err, you just expect me to walk in there naked?' I asked dumbfounded.

He suddenly growled again and quick as a flash I was in his arms, bridal style.

Squealing I pushed at his chest and demanded he let go but he merely looked straight ahead and walked towards his mansion.
