Chapter 14:Risking his life

RUBY～～～

 Walking into the forest area I try to control the raging emotions in me while different thoughts attacked me.

 Why did I kiss him,should I accept the mate bond,I did not want to hurt him by being with him,I am nothing but a monster who was never meant to be born I am the hybrid with a forbiden blood.

 "Ruby wait"Alex calls out behind me but I just ignore him needing the space to breath.

 "Leave me alone Alex"I tell him while walking deeper into the forest.

 suddenly I hear footsteps and I am too blinded by thoughts I don't realise when ten black witches appear.

 Alex pulls me towards his body shielding me while he looked at the witches.

 Looking closely I smell something fishy about these witches they smelled and looked different.

 "What are you doing in my land witches"Alex spits the anger clear in his voice,looking at us the witches do not reply as they soon start making chants and they start floating in the air their skins turning blacker and their tongue slittering out like that of a snake.

 quickly I start chanting a spell of my own but it comes out slow as I took a mixture of a potion I made to lessen and surpress my powers.

 'Alarica faster'I tell my witch but she still remains silent,before I could say anything the suddenly bring out a dagger with black smoke and it is thrown towards my direction.

 Closing my eyes I start focusing on the spell not caring if the dagger stabs me as it won't be able to harm me.

 "Arhh"I look up opening my eyes and realise that Alex actually stood in front of me sheilding me from the dagger,my face turns pale in fear.

 'No,no,no'I start mumbling and catch his body before he falls down,God he was not suppose to get hurt.that dagger could not have harmed me.

 "Alexander,why did you shield me"I ask and try to shake him awake.

 Looking up I notice the witches start turning to smoke as blood came out of their bodies.

 Fear replaces my body as I realise what kind of spell they use,it is one of the oldest and strongest only known by a witch from the first descendants.It is made with a convenant of one's life and also their blood and it could harm any other supernatural being who doesn't have the blood of a witch.

 "I'm sorry"Alex says and with that his eyes close and I try to keep him awake but fail misrably.

 'Alarica do something'I call out to my witch but they all fall to deaf ears as none of them surfaces.

 'You caused this Ruby'

'If you just accepted him'

 my subconcious mocked and I stannd up placing my hands on his I teleporth us to back of his house and after looking carefully I notice the others present in the house.

 standing up I rush towards the house.

 "Th-the Alpha"I tell them trying to control the tremble in my voice while tears fight to fall out.

 "Wh-what happened"They all ask and run outside and the better and seth instantly carry him and change into their lycan form and head towards the pack hospital.

 Hours later～～

It has been five hours and I sit beside him wondering when he will wake up.

 'we are sorry Ruby'Angel says and I just keep quite.they weren't here when I needed them and claim to be held back by a greater power.

 "Alpha Alex,when will you wake up you grumpy grandpa-"I start saying.A light laugh escapes me when I remember he would have growled if I called him that while he is awake.

"-I know you are strong so please wake up,I am sorry for what I did Alex,I p-promise to try to give us a chance"I tell him and I realise a tear has slipped out.

 Placing my hands over the wound on his chest I close my eyes and mutter a small spell transferring my power into the spell a soft blue hue starts showing and soon I fall my eyes dizzy and I pass out.

 Moments later.

I feel hands softly running through my hair and I wake up to meet eyes with alex's eye.

"You are awake"I whisper while standing up and checking his body while he lets out a small laugh.

 "It takes more than a witch's sword to kill me love"He tells me and a faint blushcovers my cheeks.

 'what the hell I never ever blush'I think while adjusting my expression

'shut up you are'Ina says full of energy.

 Rolling my eyes I smile slightly and run my hands across his body to check if he is fine and I notice the wound is healed.

 Thank God the spell worked.

 "Why are you staring at me like that mate"He asks me and his eyes start to darken.

 I smile and look at him.

"I am ready"I tell him knowing he should understand I mean the mate bond.

 "Ready for what"He asks in a teasing tone and I hit his hands.

 "Ouch"he says in fake pain and I roll my eyes clearing my throat my voice turns serious and I tell him I am ready for us to have our second chance.

 smiling widely with excitement gleaming in his eyes he pulls me into an embrace.

 "Thank you baby"He says and soon crashes his lips on mine and our lips start moving in sync.
