5 years later
“Mom! Silas won’t give back my rock!”
Our oldest child, Faith, called out from downstairs.
“We haven’t been alone for more than twenty minutes since those little gremlins came into the world,” Luke sighed, his head dropping onto my shoulder.
We were currently hiding in our room, stealing kisses while our two kids played together.
“They’ll come to find us if we don’t head down,” I said, snickering at the way his shoulders dropped.
“I love them,” he said, pulling away from me and helping me up. “But I wish I had more time to love their mother.”
“You love me every night, darling,” I replied, opening the door. “If you don’t stop loving me we’ll have an extra gremlin on the way.”
He laughed, placing his hand on my back as we walked down the stairs to stop our children from ripping each other apart. They loved each other more than anything, but when they fought, it meant all-out war.
“Give it back!” Faith yelled.
