The door opposite

EVIE'S POV

...do I really intend to miss out on this if I were to run away? If my life depends on it, then, yes. I soaked myself in the bath and used my hand to massage and wash myself. After getting satisfied with my bath, I stepped out of the bathtub, took a towel and dried myself up. There was a very large mirror in the bathroom. I didn't fail to notice it when I entered the bathroom but didn't pay too much attention to it.

Below the mirror was a platform that held many drawers and cupboards below it. On the platform was different containers and stuff that I had no idea what they are used for. Out of curiosity, I started checking the containers one after the other. Some were bath bubbles, shower gel, shampoos, cosmetics kit, perfumes, body sprays, colognes and so on. I pulled out the first drawer and saw rolls of toilet paper, the second one had some fragrant wet paper towels. I opened a few more cupboards and drawers and saw extra supplies of the things that were on the platform and some towels and robes.

After filling my curiosity, I resumed back to my former assignment. I dried my hair and walked towards the clothes that were placed on the bed. I picked it up and noticed that it smelled familiar. Oh, right. It smelled just like that Alpha. I pulled the cloth to my nose and sniffed it.

'Why does he smell so good?' Why would he even give me his clothes. The clothes I wore yesterday were his too? They smelled just like this. Ignoring my curiosity for the thousandth time since I got to this place, I started putting the clothes on.

*GRUMBLE* *GRUMBLE*

After hearing my stomach beg for food, I knew it was finally time to get something to eat. I opened the door, not remembering how to find my way to the dinning room. But then I remembered the Alpha Alpha has said to knock on the door opposite the one I was in. I was very reluctant. What to do? I can never bring myself to knock on that door, whoever is in there might get mad at me for disturbing their peace. Or should I just wait in here till he comes to find me? No. I'm not some VIP that will have someone calling me to eat.

He did it yesterday, but still...

What if I knock on the door and the person there gets mad and beat me up just like Mrs. Hank and some of the servants at the Chief's house. What if it's the Alpha's room? If it is, that gives me more reason to not go close to it. 'What to do... what to do?' I thought for a few more seconds and finally decided to stay in the room. I didn't have the nerve to knock on that door but immediately I turned around, the door to the room opened. I turned around ever so slowly and saw the Alpha walk out of the room.

"Are you ready?" he asked and I just nodded. He walked towards me in steady steps which made my heart skip a beat. I had no precise explanation as to why that happened, but it did. He reached out for my hand and moved his thumb on the back of my palm. "Let's go." he said as he walked ahead still holding my hand.

I followed him silently while memorizing every corner and path we took. I even took a mental note of the buttons that he tapped in the elevator.

On getting to the dinning room, I saw the two other men from the previous day already sitting at the table. I remembered their names. The Alpha stood behind the seat I sat on yesterday and pulled out the seat.

"Hmph~hmph" Adrian cleared his throat while Kyle looked at him and said through the mind-link; 'Can someone explain what's going on here?'. Their Alpha, Brody of all the people in the Milky Way universe, pulling out a seat for someone.

I sat down slowly and tried as much as possible to not look uncomfortable. I was not used to eating when people were around, but right now, I'm sitting at a table eating with people while a few more loitered around the table placing this and that on it. I failed to care about all these yesterday because of the crazy hunger that made me almost drool.

The middle-aged man that served food yesterday was here again putting food on the empty plates. Kyle was busy on his phone while Adrian started eating without sparing a glance at anyone. It gave me the encouragement to not be embarrassed to do the same. I looked down at the food on the table and saw that it was bacon and eggs. I never had the opportunity to eat this kind of food. I only saw them in the books in the attic.

After eating two rounds of food and a glass of milk, my stomach became full and I couldn't eat anymore. The table was cleared and I heard the Alpha say; "Let's go."
