Waiting for a Sign
Dylan's and Sancho's hearts pounded heavily as they crossed the hallway. The enemy wolf was too strong for them to fight, even if they combined their strengths. Moreover, the werewolf's eyes had turned blue already. It was a sign that the innocence was gone—death had kissed this Beta's hands. Who knew how many deaths had already been brought by those claws?
It's just that screaming for help was not an option. Most wolves were at the banquet hall; even Sancho would have been there if Dylan didn't lie about sleeping. That was why they didn't know when help could have arrived.
"Your lives end here!" The enemy wolf had caught up with them even before Sancho's heart would let up the rush. He was so ready to give the boy to Dylan and die in the name of defending the children of his revered Master Darius.
