The hands that pressed on the glass were of the same size as earlier, but the eyes that gazed into the barely breathing body inside the ICU… were never of a child. When a man showed up with two friends at the corner, he looked down at the small figure staring at his mother.
"Hey, Roddy, didn't you miss Daddy? Why are you alone?" The man walked toward the boy, and Roddy looked up at him. Before he could do anything, the father grabbed his arm. "You know, Mommy is going to be here for a long time. How about you come with Daddy today?"
"Let me go!" The child started to struggle, but the man used all of his strength to not get brought down by the non-human child. Even at five years old, therianthropes tend to be exhibiting traits that set them apart from normal humans.
However, one of the friends assembled what seemed to be a plastic gun. He then aimed at the boy's leg and shot a small dart.
