Charlotte's POV

To be frank, this mate bond of a thing is really driving me crazy. Why on Earth would I be angry at a person, in fact, not only that, but I hate this person in question, but then just a touch from him will make me forget I ever hated him?

I grumbled as he opened the other door of the car and sat beside me, then I caught the sight of my mom waving at me. She's the only reason I have taken and accepted everything that comes my way, in fact, she's my strength and my weakness.

Furthermore, I opened the door of the car and ran towards my mom who stood at a spot trying her best not to let the tears clouding in her eyes out. "My princess." She called out as I hugged her tightly.

"Remember that you're strong, you're brave and no matter what storm comes your way, you'll overcome them all." She whispered amidst tears into my ear.

"I love you, Mom."I said to her, fighting my reeling emotions, no one can know how emotional I am. I'm a fighter.

"Go dear, remember that if the world is against you, I will always stand by your side because you're my first fruit." My emotions are hanging by just a tiny thread. I detached myself from her and smiled broadly before walking away. I can feel her staring at me, but I didn't turn, afraid of the aftermath.

"Drive."I said to the driver as I sat down inside the car, only then did I turn towards the car window and stare at my mom's image, I promised never to be like her.

Jasper was working on his tablet as the driver was driving the car, and, for some unknown reason, I felt so uneasy. Whenever I have this feeling, I know deep inside me that something terrible is about to happen.

I looked out from the window trying to admire the beauty of nature, but this feeling kept coming in my way. "Charl, we're finally going to our mate's Pack." My wolf zea said to me and just that moment I wished that we're separate entities because she really needs a hard knock.

"Please can you stop? I'm trying to think." I said to her,

I know that the fact that Jasper has marked us is really going to be a big deal to us, he shouldn't have marked me as he and I know that we disparage each other. But then why on earth did he trespass into my Pack and ended up conducting the mating ceremony with me?

Something is definitely not right. I have this feeling that this whole thing is more than just a coincidence.

"Charl, stop over thinking, the moon goddess sent us our mate." She interrupted me and I rolled my eyes at her. She can be annoying.

"Jasper, why on earth did you mark me?"I asked all of a sudden as I couldn't hold it any longer.

The fact that if I ain't careful enough, he can pry into my mind made me more infuriated. "That wasn't my doing but my wolf's, I never intended to mark you. If I could, I would love to erase it."

Even if I hate him, I can't help but feel hurt by his words. I'm his mate after all, why does he sound as though I'm so disgusting? "Really then in that case, why did you conduct the mating ceremony with me?"I asked with flipping anger.

"Look, you know that saying, curiosity kills the goat, don't be too curious because in a matter of not more than twenty-four hours you will come to terms with my reason for marking you." He replied while still going through some documents on his tablet.

His words made my wolf depressed, she felt so bad, and I understood her reasons but that suits her right, not that the next minute she won't be thrilled if he touches her, stupid mate bond.

We didn't say a word to each other for almost two hours, the silence in the car was so eerie that I could almost hear my heart beat. "We've arrived." The driver said, and I looked out of the car window and saw the patrols all making way for our car.

We drove into the woods as sounds of birds filled the car but yet, the beauty of nature can never be underestimated. After a while, we finally arrived in the pack. I must give him an applause for this wonderful view. His Pack is gorgeous and we'll organize more like a city.

I watched as we passed several houses and a sky-creeper. Then the driver stopped in front of an elegant building which stood at the center of the pack. The gate opened and he drove in.

His house is breathtaking and so beautiful! "Alpha and our guest, we're here." What was that?

"What do you mean by our guest?"I snapped at the driver, who just bowed his head without even apologizing. I looked up at Jasper expecting him to say a word, but he didn't.

Yes, I know that I hate him, but then I'm supposed to be referred to as Luna no matter what.

"You can step down." He said to me instead and when I was about to say something, he strolled out of the car.

Something in me tells me that this is the beginning of my suffering. Even though I don't want to believe it, yet it's crystal clear that my life here might be worse than when I was with my people.

"Welcome home, our Alpha." The guards at the entrance of the main door said to him, but he didn't reply to them.

"Welcome home, our Alpha!" The entire workers in his house said in unison with their heads bowed down, but he walked towards the stairs instead of conceding their greetings.

"Grace!" He called out as he halted in his step, so did I, as I was walking behind him.

"Yes, my Alpha!"An elderly woman stepped out with her head bowed.

"Show the guest to her room."
