Knowledge Is Power

Lyra's POV:

I was confused about what had just happened.

Why did the book disappear?

Why was a painting of myself in the book?

Just then I heard the stairs to the section open and Alexander and Timoteo walked in.

"Why do you look surprised?" Alexander asked, walking towards me.

"Something weird just happened," I said, shaking my head to see if what I experienced was a dream or a figment of my imagination.

I proceeded to count the books on the shelf and they were nine, a confirmation that I was not losing my mind.

"The was this book that was here but now it has disappeared, it had a painting of a woman who looked just like me, when I tried to find out who the woman was it just vanished into thin air," I said all in one breath. This magical stuff was still new to me so I was freaking scared.

"Woah!! Calm down. Whatever happened I'm sure there's an explanation to it. Right, Timoteo? Alexander said, patting me on my back.
