Eight years later…
In the middle of the street, two young girls looked for their mother. They were crying as they asked the people who walked by.
Isabelle has been watching them from a distance. She knew how it felt to be alone for centuries. The emptiness in her heart, every unbearable heartache suddenly came back that frightened her.
She gulped as she looked away from the poor little girls. She couldn't bear to watch such innocent children who were seeking a dead person.
A merciless man killed their parents when they were alone in their house and the whole town knew it.
"Isa, we have to go now! We're going to be late with our meeting!" Professor Gretta whispered to her ears.
It has been a long time since she lived as a vampire. Due to her past experiences, she was convinced to be a volunteer teacher by Professor Gretta, who offered her shelter, clothes, and everything she needed.
Isabelle looked at the old, kind lady with pity in her eyes. Someone needed her help, and this time, she just returned the same favor.
"I'm sorry, Professor! But I need to help them like what you did eight years ago!"
"But what about your presentation? Everyone is expecting your presence, for heaven's sake!" Professor Gretta raised her voice on her that she had never done before.
It surprised the broken vampire as she quickly gave all the documents needed for her presentation. Without a single word, Isabelle turned her back around her and quickly crossed into the streets.
"Isa!"
"Isa—" she paused and realized that she was about to call her Isabelle.
Professor Gretta surrendered in the end when she saw how Isabelle had changed over the past eight years with her. Her kindness was undeniably genuine as it truly came from her heart.
The picture of a vampire and pitiful little girls melted her heart. It was beautiful scenery that a mother could ever witness.
Her eyes were covered with tears but she quickly wiped them off and slightly tilted her head.
"I should haven't lied to you, Isabelle. You are a kind woman and until my very last breath, you will stay next to me," she murmured and went back into the car.
As she put all the trust in Isabelle, Professor Gretta was still afraid that the truth might be revealed. When the right time came, she would lose another special person in her life after her daughter died, eight years ago.
From a distance, Isabelle looked back where she left the old woman. She felt sorry for choosing the strangers than the person who helped her from the brink of death.
Sighing, she tilted her head and smiled bitterly in front of the little girls who had stopped from crying. They were hungry and thirsty that melted her vulnerable heart.
"It must be difficult for you to understand the situation," she whispered as she looked at them with pity in her eyes.
Her heart was shattered into pieces because for some reason, there was a part of her that was missing.
"You're too pretty and kind! We're both grateful that you helped us!" one of the little girls praised Isabelle with so much innocence.
Through her speculations, Isabelle guessed that they were twins. They had the same physical characteristics, most especially their stunning blue eyes.
"Thank you, little angels! But where do you live? Where are your other siblings?"
Out of desperation, she accidentally dug up the reason why they were suffering. One of the little girls stopped from eating as she bowed her head for the moment.
As she remained silent, Isabelle took a deep breath when she suddenly felt a strange feeling. Her heart thumped too fast as it had never done since Professor Gretta looked after her.
Until the little girl lifted her head and looked intently into her tantalizing eyes.
"We're not going home anymore," she seriously said. Her eyes were filled with anger and resentment that surprised Isabelle. "Someone killed our parents! He's not just a human being, but he's a werewolf!"
At that moment, Isabelle was taken aback. It made her speechless as she couldn't believe it was happening before her eyes.
How could be a six-year-old girl recognized the killer?
It was impossible to even how hard she tried to figure it out. Werewolves were only legendary creatures who had lived thousands of years ago.
"Werewolves? H-how come, young lady? They don't exist anymore!" Isabelle replied in disbelief.
Her attention was on the girl who had seen the killer. She wanted to know everything out of nowhere.
Isabelle waited for her answer as she stared at her scarlet face covered with dirt. She knew the little girl was hiding something as she feared the creatures who killed her beloved parents.
At some point, strong energy forced her to hear more information about werewolves.
It felt like she had lived years ago and crossed an alpha's path coincidentally.
But Isabelle was certain that she was an ordinary woman who only wanted to be a professor. She believed what Professor Gretta told her the moment she gained consciousness after the accident.
Everything about her past life had vanished like a forged memory. Isabelle forgot that she was a lonely vampire. A vampire who once searched for the place where she could find her unlikely, yet jaw-dropping soulmate.
In other words, Isabelle had amnesia eight years ago. Until now, her past was kept behind the shadow of darkness.
And when she looked away from the girl's face, Isabelle caught a man who was staring at her for a couple of minutes.
His face seemed familiar to her, but Isabelle couldn't remember his name.
"Hmm, it seems like I've seen him somewhere before," she whispered as she watched the man from afar.
Little did she know, it was a new beginning of a different and magical love story she had never imagined.

Eight years ago…
A dramatic event happened the day Isabelle left the alpha's territory. Her life turned upside down when she was accidentally fell from the cliff.
Her head was severely damaged as she almost lost her life.
Isabelle screamed at the top of her lungs, yet nothing came out from her mouth. There were no people on the road at that moment where she needed help.
But suddenly, a black car stopped right in front of Isabelle. An old lady was wearing a long, black dress and black hat. Her eyes were swollen as she cried the entire day after her daughter was buried deep down to the ground.
"From now on, you will be my daughter. My beloved Isabelle." Professor Gretta whispered under the cold, velvet night.
