CHAPTER EIGHT

"I haven't left my room since morning and I only saw Olivia today." I say to her. Ever since Carly met the new guy at the airport,  I haven't been able to keep a close eye on her. It got me worried, so I picked up my phone to dial her number. "Carly..Pick your call.' I say to myself, worriedly looking out of the window of the room. " Don't worry boss… I bet she's fine." Akira say to me. "You can't be too sure of that. I saw the way she was staring at that.. Hugo." I say to Akira, still waiting for Carly to answer my call.

I could see a frozen look on her face. Like I told her to shut up. She carefully dropped the glass of wine close to the table in front of me, waiting for me to be done with the call.

"She isn't picking her calls." I slam my phone angrily on the bed. "Calm down boss.. I'm very sure she's fine. Maybe she could be sleeping in one of the rooms here." Akira says to me.' Sleeping you say? Well she should better be sleeping or else." I say to Akira, walking out of the room angrily to look for her.

"Carly! Carly!" I scream her name searching for her all over the house on the hill " What's going on?" Bart say to me, carrying a tray filled with bite sizes of cake. " Have you seen my sister?" I ask Bart. 

He stuttered, noticing the anger in my voice. "I only saw her this morning…I haven't seen her again." Bart say to me, still holding the golden tray with cake in them. " I believe she's fine boss. Why don't you calm down and let's search for her quietly." Akira say to me. Following me behind. 

" Don't tell me to calm down. Carly could have gone to the airport to meet Hug..Hugo, whatever his name is. I don't trust that guy with my sister. He could take advantage of her anytime." I snap back at Akira. I could see her face wearing a sad face. And I instantly felt guilty. 

Akira was just trying to help and calm down the situation. She didn't want anything to ruin her perfect birthday preparation. And I just screamed at her like she was a child. "I'm sorry Akira." I immediately say to her. "I just don't want anything to happen to Carly. She's my only family and it's my responsibility to look after her." I say to Akira. " It's fine..I shouldn't have said anything." Akira replied.

"Here she comes!" Bart say to me from behind. "Where did you go to?" I ask Carly, fuming as I watch her approach me with a tight leopard dress. The dress was exposing her cleavage. " I'm a big girl, you shouldn't be looking for me. " Carly says to me in disrespect. " You have got to be kidding me." I snap at her. "Answer my question and don't you dare lie to me." I say to Carly, screaming at her. " You don't tell me what to do. I'm an Adult." Carly say to me, snapping back at me. " I am your elder brother and you have no right to go out without informing me.. Let me guess you went to see Hugo right?" I grabbed her wrist, letting her know who the boss is. " Ouch! You are hurting me! Ethan stop." Carly say to me, crying. 

"Now answer my question, where did you go to?" I ask her again, this time around she could sense the anger in my voice. " I took a stroll round the house, that's all. I didn't go anywhere you piece of shit!" Carly say to me. I could feel the pain in her voice as she curse me. " Let me go now! Or I'm leaving and never returning back here." She threaten. 

I had no other option than to let go of her hand. I didn't want her to leave. I didn't want to chase her away just like I did to Genevieve. It hurt me deeply that I didn't stop Olivia when she sacked her. And now all I think about is Genevieve. " Okay! I'll let you go. But next time you should tell me first before leaving. I got scared that you might have been hurt. " I say to Carly. " Or more like I went to see Hugo" Carly replied back to me, laughing. " Well.. you caught me. You know I don't like that Hugo guy coming close to my baby sister."I replied to Carly.

"Well.. I think I deserve an apology." Carly say to me, folding her hands and resting it on her chest. 

"Okay, I'm sorry for acting the way I did. Can you forgive me?" I say to Carly, deeply regretting my actions towards her. "its fine… I know you were just looking out for me." Carly says to me, hugging me so tight. " And make sure you change into something better. You can't wear that to my birthday party this evening." I say to her, giving her a calm but serious look. " Okay! Big brother." She say to me, loosing her grip from my body. " Who wants some cake?" Bart says to I and Carly.  Cheerfully shaking the tray.

"Delicious taste. You need to try this cake!" Akira say to me. Already eating a slice of the chocolate cake. I walked towards Bart to grab a slice to myself. " Don't worry boss… yours has been kept in the masters." Bart say to me, smiling. " What about me? I'm the celebrants sister." Carly jokingly say to Bart. Grabbing a slice of the cake to eat. " Wow! This is really delicious." Carly say to Bart and Akira. I just stood there watching her. I couldn't imagine what I would do if I loose her. She is my world. And I didn't like to joke  with her. That is why I give her anything she wants.
