Chapter 35 : Truth

Okay, this is not a good situation to be in. I’m tied to a tree with a monster hunter threatening my life. My heart rate spikes as I stare into Lorenzo’s blue eyes, which are so much different than Shane’s. I wish my mate were here. I wish I were back at the house making potions, laughing with Tanya, Cain, and Serena, and spending time with Shane. What I wouldn’t give for one more minute with Shane.
Instead, I’m fighting for my life, stuck to a tree with someone who hates me down to his very core. I wonder what happened to him that he despises supernatural creatures so much.
Lorenzo takes out his gold knife and holds it up.
“Let’s have a conversation,” he says.
I swallow nervously. His voice is calm, but there’s an edge to it. I would be less scared if he were yelling.
“Um, okay. Can we talk about how you’re going to use that knife to cut these ropes off me? They’re awfully uncomfortable,” I state coolly.
