The Alpha's Human Luna

Nancy Neo was a wanderer, oh yes a restless soul drifting through cities and towns, never tethered to one place for long, she was like a tree with no root. When her family chose to settle in Akin City, a place whispered to be a sanctuary of peace and promise Nancy hoped, for once, to find a semblance of belonging. But beneath Akin City’s polished front lay shadows deeper than she could imagine. Nancy’s days were ordinary, her nights lonelier still, as she wandered the unfamiliar streets, yearning for something she couldn’t name. Little did she know, the modern world she inhabited held an ancient secret. Among the greatest of these: werewolves lived among them, hidden in plain sight, their true nature masked by human guise. One fateful evening, curiosity drew Nancy beyond the city’s borders into the wild fringes of the land. The air was electric under a full moon’s gaze, and the forest seemed to pulse with an energy both intoxicating and forbidden. There, in a hidden glade, she stumbled upon a sight that would alter her life forever—a pack of werewolves celebrating beneath the argent glow, their howls a haunting fear that sent shivers racing down her spine. She thought she was invisible, cloaked by the shadows of the trees. But the pack’s alpha a figure of raw power and grace caught her scent. As the alpha’s gaze locked onto hers, Nancy froze. The breath she had been holding escaped in a startled gasp as recognition struck like lightning. It was Baby, her lover. The truth slammed into her like a chillwave, pulling her into a whirl of disbelief, fear, and heartbreak. Baby wasn’t just a werewolf—he led them. The man she had trusted, the one she thought she knew, was a creature of the night. Caught at the crossroads of two worlds, one fragile and familiar, the other untamed and feral. Nancy was forced to confront the impossible. Could she reconcile her love for Baby with the monstrous truth of his existence? But Akin City held more secrets, and Nancy was about to uncover her own. Beneath the surface of her prosaic life lay a destiny she never anticipated, a path sprinkled with danger, desire, and a power she never knew she possessed. In a city that promised safety, Nancy would learn that peace is an illusion and sometimes, the greatest threats are the ones that lurk within. The moon whispers secrets to those who listen, but beware some truths are meant to remain hidden.

The death of Travis Neo

A couple of months ago my dad has been close to finding the cure for my poison but always failed. He became adamant, and will not listen to anyone, over the months he comes home with new medication for me to try.

But all to no avail. I was heartbroken seeing him restless to find me a cure. There were times I had to pretend the medicine worked so he can slow down a bit but my midnight cries always gave me away. These past days have been worse. When he accidentally saw the red patches on my skin.

I still remember how he hugged me with tears and how he seats several hours behind his laptop without food or water.

I was brought back to reality when Betty told me my mother was awake and wanted to see me. I wasn't going to leave there without confirming if my dad was the one in there.

I sniffed pulling from Baby. I wiped the tears that were freely flowing off my face. Everyone tried to stop me from going inside but I went anyway.

My legs were shivering something in me wanted to run, if I do run I will never forgive myself. No one knows my dad better than I do. Not even my mother his wife.

I am the only one that can confirm if it is him or not.

"Relax Nancy, it's not even him," my inner self said.

"And what if it is your dad laying there? Would you be able to get that image out of your head? Can you live with this moment for the rest of your miserable life?" my other inner self said.

"Just open it, see for yourself,"

"No don't Nancy," the voices kept struggling among themselves. It got louder that I couldn't stand it any longer.

"Both of you just shut up," I yelled covering my ears with my hand. Now I was back in control, I took another step forward and with my shivering hands, I lift the white sheet off the body. I quickly stepped back and held my mouth. "No... no...no, you can't leave me, dad," I sob.

The corpse was burnt and beyond recognition, but his left arm was half burnt, my dad had tattooed my mum's name on his middle finger and mine on his little finger.

It was him, now I couldn't hold back my tears, I didn't even try to.

I felt a warm touch it was Baby. He held me in his arms and I let myself cry in his arms. My mum finally manage to get out of her bed, she looked disturbed and didn't say much, she must be traumatized.

"Mum," I let out a whim as I wrap my hands around her neck. She hugs me back with tears.

"Did you see him?" she asked as she pulls from the hug. I nod my head and hug her again.

"How did this happen, mum?" I asked breaking from the embrace.

"Are you sure you what to know?" she asked with a hint of warning in her voice. I nod my head as she continues.

"Our car's brake failed. We both manage to get out of the car without a scratch. The next thing I know the car exploded and your dad wasn't beside me.

They claim I'm being delusional. Travis and I came out of the car, it is not possible he went back to the car without me seeing him," my mum cried. I can't make sense of this.

Something wasn't adding up. The police claim my dad went back to the car to pick up something when the car exploded. My mum is also sure my dad didn't go back to the car.

"Pull yourself together Cindy, you need to be strong for Nancy," the doctor said who is also my mother's supervisor at the hospital.

"You can take as much time as you want to recover but please get a grip on yourself," he whimpered as he walks away. My mum rolled her eyes.

"Mum, let go we need to prepare for dad's wake," I whispered.

My mother was out of control and I can't help but blame myself. If only I didn't have this poison, maybe my dad wouldn't be so stressed out to find a cure and might still be alive. I'm the reason why there were on that road in the first place.

"Nancy, believe me, your dad will never leave you willingly," my mum groaned as I nod my head in tears. "I know mum," I sob.

"Then believe when I say he had no reason to go back to the car. We knew the car was going to explode because when we came out of the car the gasoline was leaking. He couldn't wait to come home and hug Nancy, he wouldn't risk it," she cried as she stumbled to the floor. I kneel beside her and comfort her.

I believed her but I was just afraid to make sense of what she was saying.

"This was no accident,"

"This was carefully planned,"

"Someone or something took your dad back to the car in time for it to explode, Nancy,"

"HE WAS KILLED!"

{We all know this don't we? the question is who? let's find out.}
