The Alpha's Human Luna

Nancy Neo was a wanderer, oh yes a restless soul drifting through cities and towns, never tethered to one place for long, she was like a tree with no root. When her family chose to settle in Akin City, a place whispered to be a sanctuary of peace and promise Nancy hoped, for once, to find a semblance of belonging. But beneath Akin City’s polished front lay shadows deeper than she could imagine. Nancy’s days were ordinary, her nights lonelier still, as she wandered the unfamiliar streets, yearning for something she couldn’t name. Little did she know, the modern world she inhabited held an ancient secret. Among the greatest of these: werewolves lived among them, hidden in plain sight, their true nature masked by human guise. One fateful evening, curiosity drew Nancy beyond the city’s borders into the wild fringes of the land. The air was electric under a full moon’s gaze, and the forest seemed to pulse with an energy both intoxicating and forbidden. There, in a hidden glade, she stumbled upon a sight that would alter her life forever—a pack of werewolves celebrating beneath the argent glow, their howls a haunting fear that sent shivers racing down her spine. She thought she was invisible, cloaked by the shadows of the trees. But the pack’s alpha a figure of raw power and grace caught her scent. As the alpha’s gaze locked onto hers, Nancy froze. The breath she had been holding escaped in a startled gasp as recognition struck like lightning. It was Baby, her lover. The truth slammed into her like a chillwave, pulling her into a whirl of disbelief, fear, and heartbreak. Baby wasn’t just a werewolf—he led them. The man she had trusted, the one she thought she knew, was a creature of the night. Caught at the crossroads of two worlds, one fragile and familiar, the other untamed and feral. Nancy was forced to confront the impossible. Could she reconcile her love for Baby with the monstrous truth of his existence? But Akin City held more secrets, and Nancy was about to uncover her own. Beneath the surface of her prosaic life lay a destiny she never anticipated, a path sprinkled with danger, desire, and a power she never knew she possessed. In a city that promised safety, Nancy would learn that peace is an illusion and sometimes, the greatest threats are the ones that lurk within. The moon whispers secrets to those who listen, but beware some truths are meant to remain hidden.

Hope

"Nancy are you okay?" Norinika asked concerned.

"Yes," I nod. "I need some fresh air," I said as I gait out of the room. Betty followed me outside. Deminika and Norinika were left confused. "What is her problem now?" Deminika shrugs.

"Do you smell that?" says Norinika sniffing in the air.

"Which werewolf got the nerve to show its face near your cottage?" Deminika growls.

I found Wolfe outside gazing at me from afar, he always follows me in secret. I run to hug him, "I miss you Wolfe," I whimpered. Ever since my last episode, I have not seen him. I cuddle it furs as he sniffs my hair.

"Leo?" Everyone stares in awe.

Another wolf came along and howls at him. Its eyes glowed red that was when I realized it was Baby in his wolf form. It was dark the last time I saw him in his wolf form now I can clearly see his wolf well.

"These two wolves have some nerve?" Deminika pouts.

Wolfe howls back as they angrily face each other. They were about to attack each other when I stood in the middle of them.

"Nancy! Leave there, you get could hurt," Betty and Roland scream.

I couldn't explain where I wasn't scared standing in between them. They were animals after all and it was impossible for them to have any kind of human feelings but I trusted my instincts.

"No fighting please," I let out a murmur as I raise my hand in front of Baby we shared eye contact, I just knew he will never hurt me and so is his wolf. He fixes his gaze at me before turning to leave without attacking. Wolfe whims as I pass my free hand through its fur.

"How do I get the cure, Nika?" Roland asked determined as we all walk back to the basement.

"What do you think, you are some great wizard?" Deminika chuckled.

"Just tell me Nika," Roland repeated ignoring Deminika's words.

"Roland, this poison was made by our great aunty, she became greedy that she practiced black magic to hurt people. People travel from far and near places to seek her help.

She was prodigious at making these kinds of venoms. 17 years ago, she died before she could make the antidote for it. This was her last masterpiece.

Many other witches did try to make the antidote but failed. My mum told us they couldn't find the poison and no one really knew what happened to it, so tell me how you got this?" Norinika narrated.

"Nancy has been carrying this in her body for the past 17 years Nika and I have to get her the antidote," Roland whimpered as Deminika and Norinika glared at me as if I was a lab rat good for their witchery experiment.

"The very first time I saw you, Nancy, I always knew you were something special, how on earth did a mere human survive without an antidote for all these years?" Deminika awe. For the first time since I met her this is the first time, she had a different reaction other than frown.

"Unless," Deminika, Norinika, and Roland said in a unison.

"Unless what?" Betty asked.

"The poison can't be clear from your system without the antidote that means there is a different poison keeping it from reacting completely,"

Norinika said what was on Roland and Deminika's minds. If their presumption is correct it means my medication is actually another poison to subdue the stronger poison.

"You mean I have been taking in poison as my medicine?" I asked surprised. "Yes, it's the only way you are still alive right now," Norinika said.

"What then? How do we get the antidote for her?"

Betty asked still holding me.

"Are you not listening fatty? The person who made the poison died before she could make the antidote, dummy," Deminika yelled.

"But if we know what the poison was made of, we could make the antidote and I know where we could start looking," Norinika said.

That's encouraging there is still hope for me.

"Where?"

"Great Auntie's hut, maybe she left a clue or something" Norinika smiled.

She gave me a warm smile. "Don't worry Nancy we will make you the antidote soon enough don't lose hope and besides the girl that can control the alpha king is no simple girl," Norinika said with a grin and I believed her.

There was a slight hope that hit my face as she holds my hands.

{Can you believe her medication is actually another poison?}
