Maise and Rowan looked at each other. While she held a look of mixed guilt and worry, Rowan's was unreadable.
"Rowan, I didn't hear you! I'm so sorry!" She finally said. "Let me heal your face, it's going to be pretty quic-"
The grip on her wrist tightened a little and she began to feel pain.
"Ouch!" She winced and tried to free herself, but he gave her a tug.
"Never use magic again!" He vociferously, harshly, in a way he never had spoken to her before. She was completely astonished. "I forbid it!"
Then Maise frowned and pulled her arm harder, but to no avail.
"I won't stop using my magic!" She said, feeling extremely affronted by him.
"I already said that I forbid it!"
His voice was like thunder across the sky, but Maise wasn't intimidated.
"Well, I will not comply!" she screamed. "This is absurd!"
"Absurd?" he asked and shook her. "You could have killed me and you're acting like it's nothing?"
