"Hey... Are feeling better now?" Chesca asked over the phone. "I guess... How is Theo? I haven't seen him in a while. Has he been doing well?" Tori asked on the other line.

Chesca felt sad upon hearing how her best friend wanted to know how Theodore was doing. She knew that Theodore was doing just fine with or without Tori's presence, making her hesitate about whether she should answer her honestly or not.

"I think so. Never mind him. How are you doing?" she answered, emphasizing the word 'you'. "When are you coming back to school?" she continued as she leaned her back against the wall next to their classroom's door.

To answer Tori's call without her friends overhearing their conversation, Chesca went out for a while. If any of her friends hear their conversation, she knows they would only pity Tori, and she hated that.
