As she approached Adam, she noticed he was saying something to the guards who stood like they had been drenched by the rain from the East Coast. She noticed the wobbling of their legs as Adam yelled uncontrollably at that and she wondered what made him yell, she looked over his face and saw that it had a mixture of fear and anger, the inner corner of his eyebrows had angled up, and lowered together,  his lips were drawn in tightly, and his face looked wrinkled. He looked extremely tense and his mouth was stretched and pointed downwards. His eyes felt like it was bulging out and Alicma had never seen Adam like that since his birth. She resolved that whatever made him upset must be really grave. 

She threw him a "What's happening look" and he looked at her with total pain. She had heard him mention Sarah to the guards so she knew it was of great importance to him but his face was in a mess which meant that something had happened.
