I had a bad feeling about this.

"What do you mean by peak condition?" I asked hesitantly.

"We will begin your training tonight," he said, sauntering off to the stairs leading to the basement. I jogged after him.

"Training?" I repeated dumbly.

"Weightlifting, target practice, distance running, some form of martial arts," Zak said, reaching the end of the stairways.

"Target practice? With guns and stuff?" I screeched.

I trailed behind him, dazed. Guns were weapons. Lycans didn't need weapons. We were supposed to be overwhelmingly strong, to the point our body itself was a weapon to other races.

"Guns with mana bullets. And I know what you are thinking, Ashley, but you better get rid of that mindset. We may be stronger than other races naturally, but do you think that matters in a fight against our own? You should strive for perfection," Zak said, opening a large metal door which led to what I recognised as a weight room.
