Mirage’s P.O.V
“What?” Freya and Derek turned to face me as that whisper left my lips, but I couldn’t avert my eyes from that shadowy darkness anymore.
Had I seen it wrong? Was it a mirage caused by the darkness and my own imagination?
“Red eyes…” I whispered to Freya as she took a hold of my hand. “I saw them…”
“Damnit! Your hands are freezing.” Freya held onto me tighter. “It’s alright, Mirage. We’re here with you.”
But as a low growl left Tyler’s mouth, I knew that the vampire was still here; toying with us, messing with our minds until one of us made a mistake.
“It’s waiting for us to make the first move.” Sarah whispered, even though I had a feeling that the others were already communicating mentally with each other.
Freya squeezed my hand, almost in a comforting manner. I knew she was worried about me, especially since I was frozen in place, unable to move or think straight.
