The facility looked large ahead, a threatening structure hidden in the shadow of the thick forest. Its walls were designed strongly with iron and stone, an impressive reminder of the elders' power. Aveline and Gabriel crawled in the shadows to avoid being seen or noticed, their breaths were minimal as they checked the patrols guarding the whole area.
"Two guards at the entrance, another patrolling the north wall," Gabriel whispered, his sharp eyes following every movement.
"We'll take the north wall," Aveline replied, holding the head of her dagger tightly. "It's the least guarded. If we're quick, we can move through without anyone noticing our presence."
Gabriel gave her a serious nod. "Stay close."
They moved like shadows, their steps silent as they crawled along the edge of the facility. Aveline's heart was pounding very fast in her chest, each beat sounding in her ears. She knew one wrong move could ruin everything.
