Chapter 1Chapter 1: My enemy's daughter

Bloyd's Pov

I imagined I was in a private combat with him. My eyes stared in a deadly manner at my imaginative image of him and I focused my bow and arrow directly at him, pointing to his heart. I aimed to end him. To kill him. My jaw set and I let go of the arrow, watching it pluck expertly to the spot on a tree bark where I had made a dot.

Bull's eye. I got you, motherfucker.

But I wasn't satisfied yet. I hadn't had enough. I wanted more. I imagined waking him up from the pain of my arrow, readying him for another round of his death. I wished he knew how many times I wanted to kill him, awaken him and kill him again. I wished he knew how many times I had killed him over and over and over again in my head and in my imaginations. I imagined his look if he ever discovered that I was still out there, training and getting ready to ruin his life…just like he had ruined mine.

I unsheath my sword and ran towards the direction of the tree, flinging my sword swiftly and with expertise as I advanced towards the tree. I imagined I was defending myself from his attack, preparing for my own deadly strike. Once I was closer, I ran swiftly on my heels, throwing my weight into the air and landing over him with my sword swung with full force against his neck, dismembering his head from his body. I panted heavily as my feet landed on the ground without a slight shake, my feet rooted firmly against the ground. Again, I had killed him for the hundredth time in my head.

"Bravo." I heard a familiar voice comment from behind me and I turned my head to see Wallace taking long, precise steps towards me. He had a proud smile adorning his slightly aging, yet handsome face and he applauded gently with his hands as he neared me.

"I see that you have outshined your master." He added and a corner of my lip lifted in a small smile.

"I could never." I disagreed, pulling down the face mask I had used to disguise my face, still panting and trying to catch my breath.

"Don't try to be humble, Bloyd. It doesn't suit you." Wallace chuckled and threw a bottle of water my way. I did not hesitate to unseal the cap and gulp down half of the bottle down my throat. It was as if the sight of water reminded my throat that it was dry and needed some water. I have been training for more than an hour now. A habit I had grown up into ever since I was five. Wallace had been my personal trainer and early mornings, before anyone else woke up, we would create a secret barrier in the woods where I would be able to train without getting noticed by anyone. I had gotten completely used to it that skipping a day off training was enough to ruin the rest of my day. I never rested. And I never planned on taking a rest until I finally get to meet face to face with the evil that had ruined my life and that of Wallace.

"Come on." He nudged me on with a motion of his hand, turning his back against me and heading out of the barrier again. "Let's get you prepared for school before you run late. I made blueberry pancakes and ordered your favorite cappuccino from Starbucks."

Another smile crossed my face as I watched the back of the man who had saved my life and brought me up here in the human world. The idea that there was someone out there who didn't want me dead, unlike everyone else, felt oddly rejuvenating.

If only he knew I wasn't just training to end the evil who ruined the both of us, but also to protect him if ever he needed help. If only he knew how I wouldn't hesitate to kill anyone who tried to hurt even a strand of his hair. If only he knew.

...….

The school environment was busy as usual; students hurrying to catch up with their classes, some hanging around with their friends— socializing, gossiping and sharing smokes. And so far, no one said a single word to me. No welcome hugs or smiles or a simple wave. Instead, smiles froze when I walked past and my path was deserted when I came close. It felt nice and sad at the same time. It felt nice that I was feared by everyone in the entire school and that I was never bothered. On the other hand, it felt kind of sad that everyone avoided me like plague and would rather have nothing to do with me. I didn't blame them for that. I always gave them a reason to stay far away from me. There were many reasons why.

One of which was because of her.

As my eyes met with her beautiful brown ones, I noticed how they shifted from their usual bright spark to a frightened ogle. Her friends who were chatting with her did not waste the slightest second to abandon her and hurry away. It was as if they had seen a ghost. It was as if I was a ghost. A dangerous killer ghost. She remained rooted to her spot, her fingers fidgeting around her pretty flowery mini dress. She dared not run away. She knew I was coming for her and running away was the same as worsening her punishment.

Arabella. The daughter of my enemy.

As I got even closer, I pasted a sinister smile on my face and watched her force a dry lump down her throat. Her lashes fluttered and she looked like she could burst into tears any second from now. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed seeing her miserable because of me.

"Hey…princess." I stopped directly in front of her, positioning myself close to her. Too close, such that I could see all the pretty features of her face. I wondered how the gods could be so cruel to allow a murderer's daughter to look so beautiful and flawless. At the same time, I wondered how a descendant of Tarium could be this weak and fragile. Too easy to break. Too easy to kill.

"H..H…Hi…" She stuttered, her face turning red and her eyes glassy. What a pathetic little thing!

"Did you miss me during the weekend?" I reached for the tips of her long, dark straight hair and played with it in a foreboding manner.

She did not reply to me this time. I could see her chest rise and fall in an accelerated manner. She dreaded me. I was sure that to her, I was the devil. Too bad she had no idea it was her father who was the devil himself. Again, I wondered why he had sent his precious daughter to school in the human world. Was he afraid that I would come for him soon? Did he think he was protecting his daughter by sending her away? Too bad he had no idea he had sent his precious damsel straight into the paws of my unforgiving hands.

"Something tells me you and I are going to have the most memorable week together. Better than the ones we've had before. What do you think, Arabella? Am I wrong or…am I right?" I was certain I looked like a psychopath with the thinned smile playing on my lips and the way my eyes stared at her with so much coldness, as if they would devour her any moment from now.

Again, she went mute and didn't say a word in reply. This time, I felt a surge of rage burn into my heart and the smile on my face faded, to be replaced by gritted teeth and a killer look.

"Answer me." I grabbed her roughly by the cheeks and hissed into her face. She shivered visibly before nodding almost immediately.

"Y…yes. Yes, you're right."

The dark smile returned to my face again and I slowly let go of her face. I was enjoying this. I wished I could do this all day. I imagined the whole Nectar pack learning of the kind of treatment I was giving to a descendant of Tarium. They would be shocked to the bones.

"Good girl." I finally took a step back and watched as her body heaved in what looked like relief. Foolish girl. Surely, she wasn't thinking this was the end for us, was she?

"See you in class." I waved at her in a sarcastic manner and walked ahead, taking notice of the hundreds of eyes that watched me with so much fear and dread. A girl flinched as I brushed shoulders with her as if she had just had direct contact with a sharp blade.

There was no better reason for everyone on campus to avoid me as though I was pure evil. They were scared and cautious to not fall under my trap. Because once caught in my trap, no one would be able to escape the web of torture.

Not even an already dead Alpha who had ruined my life twenty two years ago. His descendants shall suffer for his crimes. That, I swore by the blood of my dead parents, Wallace's twins and all the other infants Alpha Tarium had ordered their killings during his reign.

"Who touched you?" he asked, his eyes brooding down at her and when she didn't answer, his voice thundered in the room, "WHO?" The butler who stood near the wall spoke shakily, "Sir, it was Mr. Reverale," Damien's face turned sour, his jaw ticking in anger he turned his face to the side where the butler stood behind. "Bring the man here." "N-now?" stuttered the butler. It was the time of night. Damien who hadn't broken his eye contact with the girl in front of him, pushed his hand against the wall which now rested beside his beautiful girl's head. Turning his body, he first looked at his butler who had his head bowed. With great courage, the butler came to meet his Master's eyes, "Do you have any other better time? Or should it be after I wring your neck?" Damien asked calmly tilting his head. Not a second later, the butler ran out of the room to return back with Mr. Reverale after twenty minutes. "Damien, are we having a late tea party?" Mr. Reverale came to greet but the master of the house had other plans. Spotting the knife that was stuck to the apple on the table, he reached for it to pull it out. Just as Mr. Reverale went to exchange a handshake with him, Damien took hold of his hand to place it on the table. In one swift movement as if he were chopping onions, he chopped the four fingers of the man off his hand making him yelp and cry in pain. "No one touches what is mine. I am sure this will remind you the next time you even think about touching her," sighed Damien as if he were tired of telling people to keep their dirty hands off his belongings. Meet Damien Quinn, a pureblooded vampire who is a complete narcissist, brash with his words and stingy even though he is rich who haggled when he bought a slave from the black market. On the other hand, meet Penelope who believes she is a 'guest' for a few days at the Quinn as she is intent on escaping from the odd vampire who needs therapy. ~ Discord: https://discord.gg/K63uVqN
