chapter 6- BLAIRE’S pov

I woke up with my head pounding and my vision blurry I heard indistinct voices of men. I managed to get a clear picture of where I was but it wasn't familiar, I panicked.

"Oh! She's awake," one of the men said and the rest chuckled.

"How is she the Luna… she's so weak. You could sense it from far away. The alpha of the moonstone pack doesn't have a taste?" The rest laughed hideously as they made jest of me.

I ignored them and asked for water instead because I was so thirsty. I shut my eyes and got a memory.

"I heard noises from outside the porch I was just coming back from Mira's place. I heard objects clattering and breaking then my mum's scream I hurried inside the house. I saw my stepdad hit her, dragged her by her hair, and hit her against the kitchen counter.

I shifted and pounced on him I couldn't bear to see my mum in such pain. He always apologized later and promised not to do it again but it's been months now since his recent attitude and I couldn't stand it again.

He tried pushing me off he shifted too and we fought but I wasn't as strong as he was so he managed to put me off. He was very pissed because he got bruises from my bites and scratches. He never knew how strong I was and it surprised him."

Later that night, that was when he fed me the wolfsbane and put the silver necklace on me.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard footsteps close to me. I opened my eyes and one of the men brought me water. The way I gulped the water surprised me I never knew I was so thirsty but I stopped halfway after I felt a tight sensation in my throat probably from not drinking water for a long time. I took another gulp, this time around I could feel the soothing cascade of coolness that eased that constriction. I felt so relieved.

Then I wondered how many days I've been out. I decided to ask the men, ready for any kind of response I get from them.

"How long was I passed out, please?" I looked at one of them while maintaining eye contact.

"Three days." He just answered sternly which I didn't mind. I preferred it to the mockery and sarcasm.

Three days? And I haven't been found by Richard? Is that how much he despises me? Well, I guess so. I didn't want to think about him anymore. So, I tried thinking of Maxwell because I'm sure he has a plan even though he hasn't come to get me. He has a plan. I would just wait.

I was tired of sitting and doing nothing I was so hungry and it got worse after I drank the water my stomach grumbled every now and then. Why are they not feeding me? At least if they wanted to execute me I deserved a last meal.

Just like they read my thoughts one of the men said to me. "We won't give you food if that's what you're hoping for."

The rest laughed while they continued playing their board games.

At that point, I was so tired but I remembered what my dad always told me while we trained when he was still alive. He said "Each time you feel like you're tired, you can't do it anymore, and about to give up, think of something that gives you strength or something worth fighting for and you won't even remember the pain you're feeling at the moment.

Of course, I tried to implement it, and to my greatest surprise, the only memory that came to my mind when I thought of something to draw strength from was Richard.

The night I saw him, the very first time we met the look on his face was like he was masking something. Something that made him vulnerable, something he didn't want anyone around feeling sorry for him for and could probably break him but he was doing a good job at hiding it.

Damn! He was the finest man I've ever seen and aside from his beauty the way I felt so connected to him. That moment was like something had been missing in me this whole time and I finally found the piece.

I woke up after I heard some noises of iron doors opening only heaven knows how many prisoners these people have here. I must have slept off thinking about Richard because I had the same dream I had the day after he kidnapped me and took me to his house.

After a short while, my door was opened by one of the men and he dragged me up we walked through a long dark hallway. Were they taking me to be slaughtered? I don't know.

We got to somewhere that looked like the alpha's chamber and there were three people seated. Two men who looked like they were in their early thirties, though one sat on the bigger chair so I assumed he was the alpha, and then a lady who clung on to his arm. I assumed she was the Luna too.

The alpha had so much hostility in his eyes and even in his words. "Is she the one?"

The guard nodded.

"Look at me." He commanded. I refused to look at him and then the guard kicked me on the back of my knee I knelt before the alpha and yanked my head up with my hair. I groaned in pain at the force he used to kick me and drag my hair.

When he stood up his body was even bigger than that of Richard and he looked scary with his long beard and dark eyes he towered over me and I could see the hatred in his eyes but I didn't even do anything wrong to him, I was innocent.

The alpha started approaching me, I tried to scamper away from him but he grabbed me by my arms, his grip was too firm I could feel my bones crushing before his Luna stopped him.

"Let her be," she said softly while looking at me. "You shouldn't hurt her, she's just a girl. A simple execution would be better no need to cause her more pain."

"Yes, the Luna is right." The other man in the room agreed with her. I looked up and made eye contact with the alpha. He had a scar on his right eye across to the bridge of his nose it wasn't pleasing to the eyes.

"She'll be executed in the next full moon. Take her out!" He yelled.

I cried myself to sleep wondering why I was so unlucky but maybe it's best I die so I can finally have some peace I heard there was peace after a person passed.

I know this chapter isn’t spicy but next one I promise.
