Sophie's POV

Sophie ran to her room as shock filled her. She was almost certain she felt something she shouldn't have. She felt like Goeth, the dark siren is somewhere near.

Dread filled her.

Someone knocked on her door and she opened it. In front of her stood another gorgeous girl who looked like she could easily be a princess. She looked beautiful and strong.

"Hi, I'm sorry to disturb but do you hear crying noices?" The beautiful lady said.

"I'm afraid not" Sophie replied. The girl was gorgeous and friendly but if she was a princess, she was here for Tyrion and Sophie couldn't digest it.

"I'm sorry must have been in my mind" the girl offered her hand to shake and a charming smile spread across her lips "I'm Liana, princess of Red moon pack"

"I'm Jada, I'm from the Winter water pack" Sophie spoke the lines she has been mesmerising.

"I apologise for the trouble but I can hear spirits. Aa crazy as it might sound, it was a gif Liana shrugged "sometimes I'm just confused whether I'm hearing a soul or a person." She sheepishly smiled.

Sophie instantly liked her, this girl was really sweet and charming "actually it's pretty cool. Come on in" Sophie remembered that they were standing at the door.

Once inside, she locked the door and the both of them sat on the bed like some teenager friends.

"Thanks. Your room is pretty cool Btw" Liana spoke as she saw the whole room.

"Yeah, this place is amazing" and the alpha too- Sophie wanted to add but refrained herself.

"You're nice, unlike the others I just met" Liam's rolled her eyes.

"I'm sure they can't be that bad" Sophie got comfortable on the bed.

"Trust me, yesterday I saw some Princess called Jessica shout on a poor guard because, as she quoted, he should always stand outside her room as she is the most important princess here"

"That's so rude" Sophie grimaced.

"Yes and in the night, I saw a princess flirting with a guard. To think she has a chance of becoming the Luna of this place" Liana commented nonchalantly but Sophie on other hand was angry. No, she doesn't have any chance to be with Tyrion she wanted to add.

"I'm sure they'll choose someone wiser"

"Yeah me too. I live in the room right next to ours. You'd like to chill together?" Liana suggested with another charming smile of hers.

If Sophie wasn't a selkie herself, she might have asked Liana to teach her how she smiles so gracefully but Sophie knew better.

"So, have you seen the Alpha? I've heard that he looks like some sort of a Greek god" Liana thought dreamingly and Sophie fought the urge to slam her head into the wall.

"No, not yet" Sophie lied. If she tells everybody, they might say that she's cheating her way through this competition by flirting with the Alpha. She, on the other hand, wanted to prove that she's worthy of him.

"Me neither but I'm sure he won't disappoint. Do you know that a princess named Chloe practically dragged him into her room yesterday" Liana said angrily and Sophie can agree with Liana on this anger.

"I don't think she can do that right? I mean that's clearly cheating"

"Yeah." Liana stopped as she got her hair stuck somewhere in the blanket. "Ouch" she groaned.

"Here, let me help" Sophie bent forward to help but she couldn't see anything. It looked like she was stuck in the air.

"It's ok you probably can't see the chain" Liam's groaned as she freed herself.

"Chain? What chain?" Sophie questioned with scrunched eyebrows because she can't see anything.

"The fairy chain, to make sure we don't recognise our mate, even if we meet him." Liana's eyebrows scrunched "you're also wearing one right? I mean every princess and the alpha wears it. At least that's what they told me"

"Oh yes that chain, I must've forgot." Sophie acted as if she knew what she was saying and surely it was enough to convince Liana.

Outside her room, there was some movement and then it silenced but both of the women sitting inside were naive to it.

"Happens" Liana giggled.

After chatting for another 20 minutes, Liana left "I'll see you tonight at the ball" Liana had said before leaving and Sophie nodded.

There's going to be a masquerade ball tonight and she can't wait to see Tyrion again.

Before she could take her lazy evening nap, something happened which sent shivers down her spine.

She heard a soul crying. Sophie was a selkie so she had the ability to do that, only telling that to Liana might have made her a little suspicious.

She followed the sound the bathroom. As soon as she got in, the door automatically locked and the room started becoming cooler. Chills ran down her spine as she frantically twisted the door knob.

What she didn't notice was that behind her, the bathroom has started becoming darker. Giving up on the knob, she looked around herself to find something which might help. That is when her eyes went to the mirror.

Sophie gasped and her hand went to her mouth as she collided with the wall in front of the mirror.

In the mirror, she could see her mother. It was her mother but it looked like it was someone else in her skin. Instead of her mother's golden blonde hair, this woman had black hair. Instead of her hazel eyes, this woman had deep ocean blue eyes.

It almost looked like she was looking at herself and her mother at the same time. Sophie's face might be similar to her mother's but she has always had darker features, exactly like the woman in front of her.

"Sophie" cooed the woman from inside the mirror and Sophie started getting pulled into the mirror almost like she was hypnotised.

"Sophie" the woman said again as Sophie's face touched the mirror. A hand came out of the mirror and touched Sophie's head. Sophie's eyes closed as the woman in the mirror started humming. Enchanting music filled the whole room and Sophie collapsed, fainting in the woman's arms.

An evil smile crept over the woman's face as she looked down at Sophie.

That is when the door burst open.

Liana ran into the bathroom and saw Sophie lying there subconscious. Liana immediately picked Sophie up and placed her on the bed.

Confused about what should she do, Liana ran to the guard outside. Within a few minutes, Tyrion barged into the room with the pack's doctor.

Tyrion asked Liana to leave, in his mind he was scared an shocked.

The doctor told Liam something which shook him and he nodded.

The doctor then left Liam alone with Sophie. The new found information was scary for Liam and he promised himself he will get to know the whole truth.
