Chapter 15

CHAPTER 15.

The guards had been dismissed by Maya; she didn't want them around the house. So, that made it easier for Eric to do something so crazy.

She was presently frightened by his words; meeting Johnny would be the most inhumane thing ever. She couldn't allow it.

"Eric, stop this." Maya glared at him and tried wriggling in his grasp but he was much stronger than her. "Why are you doing this? Why are chasing after me? Didn't you degrade me in front of your mistress?"

"I'm chasing after you because…" Eric trailed off for a moment. "Because I love you."

Maya's eyes widened at him, she was surprised to hear his words but she didn't believe him. She once thought that he loved her but then he wickedly rejected her and cheated on her.

"You're an expert at lying, so stop these lies and deceit. It won't work on me, I'm not that naive girl that you fooled." Maya whispered, angrily.

Eric nodded in understanding, she had truly changed but that wouldn't alter his love for her. He never stopped loving her.

"I know but I don't love you less," Eric said, truthfully. " I didn't come here to harass you but to show you how much I care. I know that you're hurting, you might look tough and act strong in front of me because you think that once you let your guard down I would break your heart but you're wrong."

"I'll never hurt you again. I'm here to support you and be your shoulder to cry on. I'm here for you to lean on and vent your anger." Eric said with an encouraging smile.

Maya looked at him in doubt and disbelief. He had cheated on her and sent people to kill her, now, he was confessing his love to her. It didn't make any sense.

"You sent people to kill me and you expect me to act like nothing happened, are you serious right now??" Maya gasped in disbelief.

"I loved you and gave you my all. I supported you in every way I could but you rejected and embarrassed me, now you're back after years, expecting me to forget so easily those treacherous acts of yours." She spoke with a hint of pain in her voice.

"I'm sorry." Eric apologized. "Just let me explain."

Maya instantly shunned him.

"I don't want to hear it! No more of your lies! just leave me alone. That's the only thing that I ask of you, why is it so hard?"

Eric was once again hurt by her rejection.

"You want me now because I'm rich and have a company. I'm no longer that orphan who was unworthy of you and would be a total disgrace to your pack. You're attracted to my higher status not…me." her voice began cracking as she spoke.

Eric shook his head and desperately transferred his hands to her face.

"It's not about your status, even if you were still poor. I wouldn't care. Please give me a chance, at least to comfort you." Eric pleaded, his scent altered to his emotion.

It became soft and charming.

"You want to comfort me?" Maya asked, widening her eyes a bit.

"Yes, I want to hold you and be here for you." Excitedly, he said what he wanted.

Maya forced a smile and replied; "Then please leave. I don't want Johnny to see you, he's more important than you think. So, please go away. That's the only comfort you can give me."

Her wolf was hurt by her words but she had to prevent a disaster from happening.

Eric didn't resist, so he agreed to leave.

"I'll go." Eric sighed and kissed her lips for a few seconds.

Maya gasped when he parted the kiss. She watched him walk away and her lustful eyes couldn't depart from his butt.

'He had such a nice butt, We should stop it and dig out fingers there.' her wolf suggested.

Maya gasped more loudly and shook her head.

'Just shut up and stop saying these silly things.'

She smoothened her clothes and answered Jonny who was still complaining about the password.

"I'm sorry, I changed it." She replied loudly and went to open the door.

The door opened and Johnny who had an angry look on his face pretended not to be upset.

"Why? Did someone try breaking in?" Johnny asked, not concerned.

"No, I just wanted to change it for the mere thought of it. Please come in." Maya said and paved the way for him.

She was a bit relieved that he wasn't a werewolf, if not, he would have smelled the scent of Eric and she would have a lot of explaining to do.

"What brings you here?" Closing the door, she asked.

Johnny pocketed his hands and a deep frown appeared on his lips. He was standing outside like a fool, the wind was cold and it resulted in goosebumps on his skin.

He was quite offended by her childish attitude but he couldn't show his anger. He had to keep up the act of the perfect, calm fiancee who never gets irritated. Being a fictional man was harder than he thought.

Johnny straightened his lips forcefully and then curved them before turning to Maya who had her hands locked at her front and her face looking a bit stressed.

"What took you so long? Why didn't you open the door when I yelled out for you?"Johnny asked, trying to stop himself from glaring at her.

Maya faked a yawn and replied; "I was sleeping, I didn't hear you. I'm so sorry."

Johnny softly replied; 'It's okay, a lot has been happening to you these days and you must be stressed. I'm so sorry for being so inconsiderate with my question."

"No, it's okay. You did nothing wrong." Smiling shakily, she walked to him and reached for his hand. "Why are you here?"

"I came to see my beautiful fiancee, is there a problem?" Johnny asked, suspiciously.

"No, it's just unusual for you to come so late like this. Well, your company could help me a bit." Maya sighed sadly.

Her cryptic fiance forced a smile and pulled her into a hug, her boobs pressed against his chest and different ideas came into his mind, wondering how long he had to wait before eating her up and devouring.

That's what he mostly wanted, he would surely murder any man who tried touching her before he did.

Maya woke up the next day and it was another sad morning for her. In the past, she would get ready for work and look incredibly beautiful but these days had been the most boring days of her life.

Johnny had spent some time with her last night but then he left and she kept thinking about Eric. It was kind of annoying but his words seemed a little sincere.

"He's just a liar, snap the fuck out of it!" She pouted, still thinking about him.

A knock came on her door and she responded.

"Yes?"

"Miss Maya, aren't you coming down for breakfast?" the maid asked.

"No, thank you." Maya refused and wrapped her hands around her pillow.

She didn't have much of an appetite, her mind was occupied with a lot of things and food was the last on the list.

Her phone suddenly rang and she reached for it. It was right in her drawer. She picked it up and answered the call after looking at the screen.

'Are there more problems? Don't tell me that people are trying to burn down the company.' Maya muttered and ran her fingers through her hair.

'No, I just called to tell you that some footage of that night which was before the testing of the car, had disappeared. It's obvious that someone had tampered with them.'

Maya sat properly as the realization dawned on her that someone might have sabotaged the car. She had spent so much money on high maintenance, how could the car crash like that?

She was a bit relieved that it wasn't her fault.

'Okay, thanks for informing me.'

'Your phone has been switched off for days, how are you doing? That's a stupid question but I'm worried.' her manager said, sounding concerned.

'I'm not okay but I'll be fine. It was quite irresponsible for me to leave the company in your hands like that but don't worry. I'll be returning soon.' Maya said.

'Okay Miss Maya, we will expect you. Don't think too much.'

'I won't.' She lied and bid him goodbye before hanging up.

The information made her less sad, she had been blaming herself all this while. She finally had an appetite which drove her out of the room, down the stairs.

She was about to head to the kitchen when her doorbell rang. She answered it and it was a delivery man. She didn't order anything but still went outside to accept.

Once she returned, she went to the couch with the big box in her hand. She sat down, tore the wrapper of it, and opened the box.

To her surprise, it was a large, white, and fluffy teddy bear. She thought it was from Johnny till she saw the card attached to it.

She flipped the card open and read it.

"Since I can't be there for you then, little Eric can. He might be big but don't mind his name. Hug him when you feel sad and know that I care a lot about you. Have a beautiful day, I hope you like it. From Eric."

Maya looked at the lovely teddy bear and smiled.

"I love it."
