I finish entering the code, and I open the folder with the entire blueprints for the ship designs I sent Aegis. "You can turn around now." She does and immediately glues her eyes on the screen. Staring at the complete blueprints.

She glides her eyes over each page individually and mumbles to herself from time to time. They run along the line of brilliant, genius, amazing, and impossible. I'll admit that my pride is swelling some at her words. However, that doesn't mean I should allow all this to go to my head.

She stands up straight and looks at me in disbelief. "I'm not going to question your skills and knowledge about ships and your designs. It's clear from what I've heard and seen you are the real deal. How much do you want for a royalty?" She is getting straight to the point.

I can see that she is waiting and listening intently. A 2 percent royalty was what I was thinking, but I've come into a great influx of knowledge since then, and the designs I want to work on now require much more money. I take the touchpad from here and see the blueprints and designs for the superweapon. It's an ionic pulse that fries life support systems against entire fleets. However, the actual designs are shit.

My mind builds it in my head, and once fully complete, it's like a giant floating gun with a ship built around it. "It might take you a while, so Aegis knows when you're done." She begins to walk towards the apartment's exit, but I make all the adjustments to the designs and parts. I'm rapidly entering information on the touchpad, and after a couple of seconds, everything is done.

The original design would've exploded and had catastrophic failures everywhere. "Zenera." Before she can step out of the door, I call her name. She looks back at me and is probably wondering if I have any questions regarding the superweapon.

It's a good weapon, but I could make it so much more. However, I won't no need to make it better than it already is. I wave my hand for her to come over, and she does. "I'm finished. Take all the time you need to check my work." I hand her the touchpad back, and she has a shocked expression.

She looks at the new modifications and designs that I've added. She raises her head, and her mouth hangs open in shock. "Let me talk to my superiors. Give me an hour." She sits on the couch and pulls out the holo com. She sets it on the table and I leave so she can speak in private. That weapon isn't something that I'd myself design, it's too impractical and situational.

Not to mention the counter intuitiveness of building a ship around the weapon. It'd be much more effective of a weapon if they knew that the range on ionic bursts can be modified with a modified energy chamber. I only fixed the design they gave me. I didn't make any significant changes.
