The Aeternus Universe

The year of humanity is 2415, and DDVR and VRMMORPG's are commonplace now. It's extremely hard for a new game to come out and be successful. The greats of these genres have ruled for a few centuries now. A new game is releasing soon, and it has promise to be one of those. The Aeternus Universe. A Virtual Reality game has what you would expect from a game in this genre. However, some things make it special. One of those being the exploration and adventure through galaxies and The Aeternus Universe. Other games in this genre take it to fantasy and medieval times. This is set in a universe where there are super advanced technologies, spaceships, and Mecha suits—lost Alien tech ready to be found and claimed. Some of these all come together. The story starts 2 days before the release of the game, and with our protagonist—a 20-year-old male by the name of Scott Autumn. He is one of the few jumping from the current major game to this one. Seeing its potential for greatness and chance to be one of the biggest games on the market.

~~~(POV: Durado)~~~
Larzacks has proven to be as every bit resistant as he claimed he was. Nothing has worked on him, and even the new things I needed to test have failed to break him.
"I see why you're so valuable to Teller-Bravo... Not only are you a great leader and have valuable information, but you won't talk even if your family is targeted."
His head is low. The blood from his mouth covers the floor.
Taking out his teeth was a challenge, but it wasn't that hard after I got assistance from one of the active drones.
"You'll... Never... Get... Anything... From... Me..."
He's a pathetic sight to behold, and a man of his pride and station should be pitied when he falls this far.
"You're... Already... Dead..."
He's lost his sense of reality.
He's no longer of any use to me, and I'm not getting anything vital from him. His life is void.
"Can't say it's been fun knowing you, Larzacks. You can die knowing that you kept your word."
He has done just that and in different lives. He could've been one hell of a bounty hunter. The mental toughness he has is the highest I've ever encountered.
My blaster spins in my hand as I pull it out of its holster. I point it at his head, and right before I pull the trigger, he starts laughing.
"You're one crazy son of a bitch, Larzacks. Have fun in hell."
My finger rests on the trigger, but he gives a smug and cocky look before I can pull the trigger. I'll admit, I'm interested.
He's probably playing me to get more time before I kill him, and he's succeeded for now. My weapon lowers, and he takes labored breaths, trying to find the wind to speak.
"They... Know..."
That's impossible. I scanned him for any trackers.
"DNA... Encoded... Tracking... You... Never... Would... Have... Saw... It..."
In an instant, all I see is red and the cracking of my teeth.
He laughs at my angry face, and that's when I exit the room and head towards the Command Deck.
"They actually put a God damn DNA tracker in him!!!"
I'm in utter disbelief... Not only is that something only Teller-Bravo can afford, but it's also incredibly painful for the recipient. Only 45% survive the procedure. Larzacks is a die-hard for Teller-Bravo, all the way to the end.
My eyes look towards the consoles and out of the window. He's had me preoccupied this entire time. So they could get here. The problem is I can't access shit without Scott.
"Right when I need you, you're not here..."
I mutter obscene curses and struggle to get anything to work. Out in the distance, hundreds of Capital Ships exit Hyperspace.
The gas giant that this ship is hovering above is right in the bottom corners of my eyes.
"Shit! Shit, shit, shit, shit!!!"
They slowly approach, and I'm hailed on the open frequency. I try my best to answer, but only one-way communication is open. The next time Scott is back, I'm making him give me access to the ship's systems. This is ridiculous!
A high-ranking admiral body appears via hologram from one of the communication tables on the Command Deck.
"To the occupants of this... Ship... Hand over Teller-Bravo Officer Larzacks, and you'll be allowed to live."
I'd love to respond if I can, but no matter what I try, nothing works.
"You have 30 seconds to comply. If you don't, you'll be fired upon and boarded."
Great! Just Great!
The time whittles away, and there isn't anything I can do to stop it. After 30 seconds of time passes, all the Capital Ships charge their weapons.
Before I can even react, the ship lights up, and everything is activated. The lasers and rockets launch at the ship, but they're stopped by the ship's shields. In the blink of an eye, all lights on the Command Deck turn red.
The ship's center begins to open, and long shifting Kilometers of Metal form in a beautiful random. A huge cannon that's 3 Kilometers wide lifts from the center of the ship, and it looks to be made of nanites or some free-moving metal.
"Do not fire that weapon! Disengage your weapons!"
The admiral comes back through the hologram.
Before I can even think, I'm blinded by a bright light, and as my vision clears, a massive beam of crimson-red energy is tearing through the fleet.
The energy builds in the center of the location of the remaining forces and expands outs wards in a sphere. The best way to describe it is like a red sun. The admiral is cut off with a scream. The light show ends, and there is silence.
