CHAPTER 3-THE MYSTERY OF KAMALPURA

He quickly turned back and saw an old man standing there with a face devoid of expression.Mr. Roy was feeling a bit strange.

"Are you Mr. Roy?"The old man said in a terrible manner.

"Yes" Mr. Roy said.

"Your luggage"

"That's it"Mr Roy pointed to his handbag and said.

"Follow me"Saying this he started walking in the other direction.Mr Roy started following him.Several homes, which it was difficult to categorise as ripe homes, had ladies outdoors performing housework in a dejected manner.A little ahead there was another horse carriage which looked more royal than the previous one on which Mr Roy had traveled. It was carved from excellent wood. The elderly guy proceeded to the charioteer's seat after adjusting the horses' bridles, Mr. Roy takes a seat on the horse-drawn carriage's cosy mattress. His second journey had begun, but he didn't know for where. Now the houses were not visible, the sky had also faded because the sun was hidden in the clouds. There was only the sound of the horse cart's wheels contacting the path's stone.A short distance away was an imposing iron gate that looked quite old.

"Kishore das!" The old man said loudly. That's when, a young man wearing a vest that looked a bit dirty ran up to the door and opened it.Now in front of Mr Roy was an old-fashioned mansion whose color had faded,a short distance from the mansion there was a garage where a white ambassador and a dark green Mercedes Benz SS were parked. Some beautiful flowers were decorated outside adding some sparkle to this dreary place. The horse cart stopped right in front of the gate of the mansion. The stairway to the gate's first step had a terrible appearance.Mr Roy takes his bag out of the horse cart and walks towards those stairs, then the door of the mansion opens and a tall man who was wearing a very royal type suit and had a tabacco pipe in his mouth which looked a little better than the normal pipe came out.Behind him was a young boy who wore the same suit but in red.

"Mr.Roy?"Said the young man standing behind him with a beaming smile.

"Yes"Mr Roy also replied with a smile.

"Thakur Jyotiraditya Chakraborty, I hope getting here wasn't too difficult for you"The old man said.

"There was an issue, but it doesn't matter because I had to get here anyhow"Mr.Roy said.

"Let's have a conversation inside"The old man pointed to the door and said.

After entering, Mr. Roy thought this mansion was a little charming. The majority of the furnishings were antiques, the majority of the curtains were drawn, so there was very little light, and lamps were burning in place of light bulbs. On the sofa, they were all three seated across from one another.

"Jagadish!"The old man said loudly. After a while, a servant arrives with a tray ornamented with numerous items and places it in front of Mr. Roy.

"Please have it"The old man said gently.

"Thank you" Mr. Roy said and took a look at the tray containing a variety of sweets, many of which he had never seen before. He picked up a white dessert which had a lot of juice, it was probably the only dessert in that tray that he knew and which was very famous in the whole country 'Rasgulla'. He tried it and immediately enjoyed the flavour. It was much better than all the other rasgullas he had eaten. He was enjoying it only then,"My children adore your tales,Mr Roy"The old man said keeping the tobacco pipe on the table.

"Nice" Mr. Roy said and saw the young man sitting next to the old man whose expression seemed like he wanted to say a lot.

"And trust them too" The old man said in a firm tone. He was speaking looking into Mr. Roy's eyes."With my older eyes, I also looked at them; while the stories are intriguing, the actuality is hardly discernible"The elderly man had a disapproving look on his face.

"Then you have wasted both your and mine's precious time"Mr.Roy said in a firm tone.

"You are our last hope Mr Roy, many of our people have been killed, now only you can save us from this trouble" The young guy said.

"I have read your letter"Mr.Roy said with a thin smile. Looking at the old man, it seemed as if he did not like what his son had said.

"You must be tired, Ravish will show you your room"The old man said and got up and left.

"Follow me" The young guy said. Mr Roy climbs the stairs with Ravish to reach the first floor.

"The second room is yours, you can call me if you need anything"Ravish points to the other room in the corridor, whose door would have been open, and leaves from there.Mr.Roy slowly moves towards the room while looking at the things in that corridor. As he reaches the room, he sees that there is a young woman in a pink saree sitting there with some books, when he looks at the cover of the books, he finds that these are the books written by him only.Suddenly that lady stops, maybe she has come to know that there is someone else in the room. She turns back and towards Mr Roy.For a moment, Mr. Roy is astonished to see her face. The lady waves and picks up those books as she walks past Mr. Roy, grinning.Mr Roy gets a pleasant scent when she walks past him which gives him a beautiful feeling. 'Who was that lady' He thinks...
