Time to Die
Max flew through the Golden Gate Bridge sending bits of it to the cars below, he kept on punching Sun in the face repeatedly. He held him by the neck and spun around still moving forward as he went headfirst through three buildings. Sun crashed and rolled through the ground and even before he could think of what to do next, he was picked up by Max from his leg and slammed into the ground then thrown up only to be slammed back down into a garbage truck. Max landed in front of the truck as Sun kicked the cab away for him to emerge.
"You will suffer Sun, for the pain and suffering you have brought me. You will die by my hand" Max said angrily as his brother walked towards him.
"Hahaha, you will find out that we are both very hard to kill, but I will put you down. I won't bother trying to selectively remove a part of your memory, but I will remove it all and then you'll be my number two and we shall rule this world together!" Sun said.
"Spare me your flattering words. I will still take you down" Max said with his eyes flashing.
"Okay brother, let's see who kills who first" Sun said.
The two walked towards each other with Max throwing a punch with Sun ducking and punching Max in the gut. Maverick then elbowed him in the side of the head sending him two feet away, Max walked confidently towards Sun who prepared to launch an attack. Sun threw a punch Max moved under his arm spinning his body and kicking him in the ribs.
"It seems your combat training as returned" Sun remarked.
Sun threw another which his brother caught and pulled down his arm trying to land another blow which Sun caught, Max swung his leg trying to tackle Sun as his brother responded by kicking his leg back. The two then threw their knees forward as they both clashed producing a shockwave. They stared into their eyes as they began to push against one another with the ground cracking due to their force, both then launched their heads forward as they headbutted one another throwing themselves back.
They two skid to a halt then flew at one another, their clashed produced another shockwave destroying surrounding glasses as the two shot into the air before Maverick was thrown away. He landed on the face of a building before pushing forward destroying most of the side with huge cracks due to the force of him pushing off, he landed a solid blow on his brother as he was sent tumbling for meters through the streets. After hitting multiple vehicles and buildings, he sounds himself to his feet as he was then walked in the back by a steel beam, he rolled forward for a hundred feet before being stopped by a tanker. Maverick then shut forward trying to seize the opportunity as Sun jumped over him and the other ran into the tanker causing a colossal explosion. The blast sent Max into the air as Sun flew at him taking their fight elsewhere, the two continued to fight taking their fight out of California and to Neveda as the two crashed into Area 51.
Soldiers raised their guns pointing them at the crater in the middle of the base with dust clouding their vision. Out of the dust Sun shot forth breaking through two tanks before stopping as Maverick flew at him bursting through the dust, Sun then timed his next attack back flipping and dangling his two legs as he hit Max in the chin sending him up into the air.
"Fire! Fire! Fire!!" A soldier screamed.
The soldiers opened fire on the duo as Sun flew up to Max grabbing him by the face then pulling him and his arm back to get enough momentum as the threw him at a row of hangars. Max flew through the hangars crashing through advanced military equipment and a spaceship, Max tumbled passing through people and almost smashing into a dark green creature that was humanoid but with black eyes and two antennae on his forehead. Sun turned his attention to the bullets that pestered him and grunted as they fired at him, he moved in front of two soldiers smashing their heads together causing their heads to burst then began to move through their tanks, APC'S and men like they were flowers.
Max on the other hand stood up slowly shaking his head as he stood up from a lab where they were dissecting one of the green aliens from before. He turned and saw the mess of a body that was present due to his crash.
"Nasty" he remarked seeing how ugly and disgusting the sight was.
Scientists adorned in their lab coats looked at him confused as soldiers surrounded him aiming their weapons at him.
"Surrender now or feel the might of the US army" a soldier said.
"I know I'm not supposed to be here but there are bigger things than those green things going on right now" Max said before blasting off.
A miniature rail gun was manned on a tank and shot Sun sending through five hangars. With a very angry look and a growl, Sun shot out landing a blow on the rail gun tank shattering it as it compressed and broke into smaller parts killing everyone inside. An F-22 Raptor then unleashed a flurry of missiles on Sun throwing him through the base like a rag doll, he back flipped back to his feet with anger as he blasted off to destroy the jet. Just as he was about to hit, Max flew in from the side carrying their brawl to another place, Area 51 was left in turmoil with over fifty dead and millions of dollars and invaluable research destroyed.
"Get the satellite online and find the two responsible for this!" The General in charge yelled slamming his fist into his desk.
The control center linked up to their satellite and got a lock on the fight as the two super humans traveled towards New Mexico. They zoomed in to find the beings responsible and we're shocked to see Maverick and Titan engaged in battle.
"I don't know how these two were able to fly here without triggering our radar systems but after this we need to sit either one of them and stop them from spilling this put to the public" the general said.
The crashed through multiple buildings in New Mexico city out of the rubble and shock of people, the two emerged out of opposite shops selling hats, clothing and accessories. The two walked out to the street with people taking cover in buildings, and behind cars among others.
"There's only one way this ends, it's either I win, or you kill me" Sun said.
"I was counting on that" Maverick replied.
People took out their phones and began to record the standoff as the two looked eye to eye as the wind blew gently causing Maverick's cape to gently sway. Sun took off first as Maverick casually punched him into the ground, Sun then pushed harder driving his brother through the ground until he changed the tide of things sticking out his finger forcefully into the ground causing them both to tumble on the ground as Sun was thrown into a building. Maverick stood behind two cars that they had crashed into devising a plan as his brother charged forward. He held the bumpers of the two cars and in one fluid motion, he slammed the first car in his right arm as he rotated his body into Sun and then used the other gathering momentum from his motion uppercutting him as he rose ten feet in the air before landing on his back. As he sat up, Maverick flew into him as they beat each other until Sun kicked Max into the path of a train and he was launched high and far after taking its full force. Maverick stood up slowly as Sun flew out of nowhere grabbing him by the cape and spinning him around smashing through multiple buildings and then finally into a cafe. As Sun awaited his brothers next move, a truck carrying steel pipes headed his way, the driver jumped out of the truck as Sun wore a grim on his face. With a solid swing, he slammed on the front of the cab smashing the engine and enough force to cause the load and the rest of the truck to flip as he caught it in his palms and turned towards the cafe his brother was in. As he prepared to throw it into the cafe, people ran out fearing for their lives. Just as he was about to throw it, Max flew at him clearing him from under the truck as it crashed on the ground. After flying into an apartment block, the brothers shot up into the sky punching one another narrowly missing an innocent plane as they shot passed it. Maverick and Sun simultaneously held their breath as they approached space and given their large lungs, they could hold their breath for about an hour. Maverick punched Sun towards a satellite as he dug his fingers into it to stop himself from going deeper into space. Sun then kicked the satellite towards his approaching brother who caught it but the other smashed through it punching his brother as they began to descend back to Earth still punching one another.
In Area 51, their satellite feed of the fight cut off immediately causing all of them to shout and groan in anger. They had already gotten out the emergency popcorn packs they had and settled in to watch the fight.
"Damn it! Now we have to wait to find out the winner just like everybody else" the general lamented.
The two continually descended with parts of their clothes catching fire on re-entry as they surrounded by flames.
"Give up brother, your end is nigh" Sun said.
"It's not over till I say it is" Max answered.
"No matter what you do, you can never defeat me" Sun replied confidently.
Maverick then looked over his brother's shoulder seeing a volcano, the largest one in Hawaii.
"I can't, but he can" he said pointing his head at the volcano.
Sun turned to see what he was talking about, and Max weaseled out of his grip putting Sun under him with his legs pushed back to his chest and in one motion, kicked out with so much force that isn't caused a huge shockwave seen from space and caused gusts of wind and waves on the surface. Sun shot into the volcano unable to overcome the force of his brother's kick and went into the volcano. Maverick hovered over the volcano monitoring it for a while to see whether Sun survived or not but there was no sign of him. With his brother defeated, he went back to check up on Ramon flying as fast as possible knowing the distance from Hawaii to San Francisco.
After struggling for close to an hour, Ramon finally got out of the rope used to tie him up, the best he could do was sit next to Jessica's body and sob crying until tears came out no more. As if things hadn't gotten bad enough for poor Ramon, he was then struck by a stray bolt of lightning sending his body cartwheeling through the air and into the sea.

A year had passed since Jessica's death and the final battle between Maverick and Sun and the world never remained the same. First off, America had elections two months after the tragedy that rocked the whole world. People began to hold protests calling for Maverick to answer for all the damage brought to the nation, but the hero world banned together defending him as the events of that day were beyond his control.
"It's been a year since the events of June 15th and the whole America comes together to mourn those who lost their lives that day including the entire government of America. In the space of a year, crime has also increased in the streets by a hundred percent with Maverick disappearing. This has put Ravage more in the front burner trying to curb the rise of crime which has also given birth to a new hero known as Cloud. The two have tried their best but it's not the same with the black caped man around. This has left everyone with one question on their mind, where is Maverick?" The news anchor said.
Max stood in front of Jessica's grave with flowers dropped in front of it. He was wearing a black shirt underneath a black leather jacket, black combat trousers and black trainers. He had tears in his eyes remembering what had happened to her on that day. Ever since that day, Max never dawned his suit because of how much he had lost trying to be a hero. He was lucky that Ramon survived the lightning bolt even though he never saw him after that again. His association with him might put him in harm's way again and this time, he might actually die. The only thing that brought him out of the house now was running his parent's restaurant which was still as good as ever.
As today was declared a public holiday by the government, Max retreated to his home after visiting Jessica's grave. Lying on his bed, he remembered the good times all three had with the image of her dead body plaguing his mind once in a while. He thrashed his head from side to side trying to forget the whole thing until he turned his head towards his desk. He walked to it checking on top of it for where he kept his earpiece seeking to play something to calm his nerves and he hit down an envelope. The envelope opened as something sliver dropped out of it and glistened on the ground. He walked up to intrigued by its appearance and found it was a silver flash drive. He then remembered Jessica's parents gifting it to him but never bothered to open it thinking it was a card or something and neglected it. He placed his finger inside it and pulled out a note saying it was from Jessica, now he really wanted to know what was on the flash.
He got out his laptop and plugged the flash in, he opened it up to see a video titled 'For Max'. He clicked on it. It was Jessica sitting down on her desk in her pajamas late in the night and he looked confused.
"I don't why I'm doing this, but I have a feeling that you might need this in the future. I haven't slept just thinking about this, but I decided to go with my gut. I know things have been tough for you Max with your parents dying a few days ago but trust me, things will be fine. In life everything happens for a reason be it good or bad but at the end of the day you'll see everything work together for good. You were gifted with your powers for a reason, and I know you might blame them for being the reason why your parents died. You might wish you never discovered them but think of that day, the day you used them to save us when we encountered Warthog and the thousands of people you saved with them. In life we were given the power of choice and you chose to use them to save lives, to protect people, to use them for good. I know things may not look good now but never stop using those powers for good, no matter what happens even if I may die, even though I'm not planning to die but never stop doing good Max. Promise me that you'll keep on fighting for the good in this world" Jessica said in the video with her words causing Max to tear.
"I don't know why I'm doing this but I'm tired now. So, bye" she said as the video concluded.
Max bowed his head and sobbed deeply before wiping his tears.
"It might have been insignificant then, but it means a lot to me" Max said raising his head up with his eyes closed as tears couldn't help but stream down.
"Thanks for always looking out for me Jessica"
Max stood up slowly with new motivation and a promise to be upheld. He opened his wardrobe and saw the battle-damaged suit he wore a year ago and didn't even know where to start on fixing it.
"Damn it!" He said angrily kicking the bottom drawer hurting his toe.
"Oww!!!" He screamed raising his foot upholding his toe and hopping of one foot until he slipped and fell on the floor.
He turned his head to his bed and saw a case under his bead.
"How did you get under there?" He reasoned.
"I wonder how many things I've kept away for so long" he said pulling out the case from under the bed.
He opened the case seeing a note from Dave on top of a black cover.
"Take care of this one cuz, I'm not making another anytime soon" the note read.
He pulled of the cover and there was another one, a brand-new suit, cleaner finish, slick look and jaw dropping gorgeous.
"Thank you, Dave" he said with a smile.
After shutting himself away from the world, his hero life and even social media, he was about to make his return. He wore the suit in his room with wind blowing through his window for a dramatic effect.
"Don't worry Jess, I will keep my promise and I will protect the citizens of this city till the end of time. This, I promise you"
With those words, Max left his house to save people.
