Chapter 7: New Companion

The square had finally quieted down, the chaos of the previous moments fading into the background as the townspeople resumed their daily activities.

Lily stood amidst the remnants of the commotion, the weight of the badge and the rocky token in her hands, feeling both proud and overwhelmed. Professor Thaddeus, adjusting his glasses and grinning widely, caught her attention once more.

"Lily, I believe you'll find that particularly fascinating," he said, pointing at the peculiar rock.

"The rock that I gave you is a fossil of a Pokémon who once roamed the icy region of Kalos many years ago, it's called Amaura, a species known for its icy abilities and serene nature. I think you'll find its revival to be quite exciting." Lily's eyes widened with joy.

"Amaura? I've read about it! It's said to be a prehistoric Pokémon that can create icy blasts and has a delicate beauty!"

"Exactly!" the professor replied, his enthusiasm infectious.

"If you're interested, you can visit my Fossil Lab later today, and I'll guide you through the process of reviving this ancient pokemon. It will be a wonderful opportunity for you to learn about fossil Pokémon and their restoration." As she nodded eagerly, her heart raced at the prospect of bringing a long-lost Pokémon back to life.

The thought of gaining a new companion that will accompany her and Happiny throughout her journey made her look forward to it.

Meanwhile, in a dimly lit room, deep within the shadows of the forest, the atmosphere was tense. A group of Pokémon hunters gathered around a table, their faces etched with frustration.

At the head of the table sat a tall, imposing figure draped in dark clothing, his sharp gaze piercing through the dim light.

"This was supposed to be an easy capture," he growled, his voice low and menacing.

"The Archeops and its flock were within our reach, and yet you let them slip through your fingers!" One of the hunters, a scrawny man with a torn cap, responded hesitantly,

"We didn't expect the commotion in the town. The people got in the way, and we had to retreat before we were caught." The leader slammed his fist on the table, rattling the equipment scattered across its surface.

"Excuses don't matter! We need to capture those birds before they can alert other trainers. They are valuable assets for our operations!" As the hunters exchanged worried glances, another member spoke up, his voice trembling.

"We've been tracking them for a while, but we need a new strategy. If we don't act fast, we risk losing the opportunity altogether." The leader leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers as he contemplated their next move.

"We'll find another way. I want you to scour the forest. There's bound to be a way to corner them. And if you find any evidence of those trainers, deal with them too."

Meanwhile, Officer Jenny and her team were looking through the forest, investigating the area surrounding the square for clues regarding the disturbance. As they scoured the underbrush, one of the officers shouted,

"Over here! I think I've found something!" The team gathered around as Officer Jenny inspected the scene.

Among the fallen leaves and branches, they discovered discarded pieces of an electric net, their wires glinting ominously in the dappled sunlight.

"Looks like someone was here recently," Officer Jenny said, her brow furrowing in concern.

"This net could have been used to catch Pokémon. We need to be on high alert. It fits the profile of poachers we've encountered before." She turned to her team, determination setting in her features.

"Let's spread out and see if we can track down where this came from. We'll need to find out who's behind this operation."

While Officer Jenny and her team were uncovering the remnants of the hunters' failed mission, Lily and Nurse Joy made their way with Professor Thaddeus to the Fossil Lab. The professor led the way, his tone getting excitemented as he talked about the various fossils he had collected over the years.

"Fossils have many secrets," he explained, his eyes sparkling with passion.

"Each one holds the potential for revival, giving us a glimpse into the ancient world of Pokémon that once roamed the Pokémon world. Amaura is particularly special because of its association with the Ice type, and it can teach us so much about the ecology of that era."

As they entered the lab, Lily marveled at the rows of glass containers filled with fossils and peculiar stones of all shapes and sizes. Shelves lined with books and research papers surrounded them, creating an atmosphere brimming with knowledge and discovery.

"Now, let's begin," Professor Thaddeus said as he carefully placed the Amaura fossil on a pedestal.

"Reviving a Pokémon requires precision and care. We'll need to recreate the environment in which it thrived, and then we'll use this machine to awaken it."

Lily watched in awe as the professor demonstrated the process, his hands expertly manipulating the controls of the revival machine. The air buzzed with energy as the machine whirred to life, casting a warm glow over the fossil.

"Are you ready?" he asked, glancing at Lily and Nurse Joy, who nodded eagerly, hearts racing with anticipation.

With a final adjustment, Professor Thaddeus activated the machine. A soft hum filled the room, and the fossil began to vibrate. Slowly, a shimmering light enveloped it, growing brighter until it filled the lab.

As the brilliance faded, the silhouette of a Pokémon emerged, taking form before their eyes. Finally, with a gentle crackle, the light dissipated, revealing the beautiful Amaura, its icy-blue skin with sparling diamond like shape in the middle glistening like freshly fallen snow.

Lily gasped, her heart swelling with joy as she took in the sight of the revived Pokémon. Amaura blinked its large, expressive eyes, looking around in wonder before settling its gaze on the humans in front of it.

Looking at the dinosaur like pokemon infront of her, Lily realized that her adventure as a Pokémon trainer had only just begun. Amidst the chaos that happened, new challenges awaits.
