EP 83 - A COMPROMISE.

Levi returned , almost worn out and extremely tired. Going through the Sage Mode was quite exhausting as it drew from his major source of energy. He was relieved to see that they had all stopped fighting and everything was back to normal.

"What the hell happened to you? You look like someone who just went through a wringer." Avyanna asked.

She was back.

Levi sighed and sat in the ground beside Conrad. " About earlier , I wasn't really feeling like myself." He said facing forward.

That was the closet Levi was ever going to get to an apology and Conrad knew it. "Sure. At least I know you won't try to kill me again.' Conrad replied

"Well about that, I'm not so sure." He added. "But then again , No one plans a murder out loud."

"WHAAAAAAAAAT!!!!!!!!!!" .

Su Ling took in a deep breath as she rapped her knuckles on her door.

Knock!

Knock!

She hadn't even reached the third knock when the door was hurriedly opened as her mother wrapped her in a comforting hug. "You got us so worried Băobăo!"

"Where have you been? Are you hungry?" She asked in a rush and then answering her own questions , she added. "Come on in and have some dumplings , Băobăo."

"Thank you." Su Ling smiled and came in.

As she quickly moved to the kitchen to get her daughter something to eat , Su ling saw her father sitting on a chair across the dinning table going through the business column in that day's newspaper.

She went over and seated herself opposite Luo Hua.

Luo Hua looked briefly at her before returning to his paper. "I knew you would be back. Well Su Ling Hua , Do you have anything to say for your unruly actions?"

Su Ling sighed before speaking. "I'm sorry." She muttered.

Her father shook his head. "What was that? I couldn't hear you?"

"I said I am sorry..."

Luo Hua nodded but Su Ling wasn't finished. "I am sorry but I am still not going to

study Neuro-Surgery. I want to be a photographer."

"

"Again with this nonsense!" Luo Hua said angrily. "Soon you will say that you want to become a Hobo out on the streets."

"It's my life Baa and I can be whoever or whatever that I want." Su ling retorted.

"But one of my duty is to help you shape that life!"

"Oh just like you did, Xiañğ?"

Now it was the turn of the hot headed Luo Hua to fall silent before he continued "That was no fault of mine, Your brother did that to himself."

"But you drove him to it." Su ling yelled but calmed herself . '

"But no matter how we argue it can't bring him back. So we have to try and move forward and learn from the past. I have an alternative that might be agreeable to the both of us."

Her father set down his paper. "Go on."

"I won't become a Neuro-Surgeon working in a big prestigious hospital with a fat salary but I have decided to opt for Medecins San frontiers (MSF) also known as Doctors beyond borders. I will be practically studying medicine but I can also take pictures and document all my research and findings,offers medical humanitarian assistance to people regardless of who they are.That is my final offer Baa ...Take it or Leave it."

Luo Hua took a deep breath and then nodded in approval . "Don't think that you have pulled one over me young woman as I have so many objections to this idea but at least better than being a good for nothing picture taker."

"Thank you Baa."

Then he added softly. "I did my best by my son. That night hurt me too."

It took a lot for her father to say this and Su ling knew but although she sympathized with him, a part of her couldn't forgive.

Su ling entered her room and took out her phone. She was about to text Eva to thank her for her great advice but decided to do it in person. Instead she started chatting up with Jean-Pierre , this French guy she met a while back and she is totally digging him.

She wondered how her dad would react when he heard about it.

Luo Hua would totally FUR-REAK!

But that is a problem for another day.
