EP 61 - OUR LITTLE SECRET.

"I never saw that coming." John clamored.

"You never see anything coming." Eva taunted.

"Of course I see things coming. I can make a million things you can't see coming." He remarked.

"Wow ...You can't even think of one." Su Ling scorned.

"Erylis...A werewolf?! What a twist." Sky added.

"How long?" Avyanna asked as Erylis led her down a series of stairs leading underground.

"For Twenty five years ; Or more accurately , since I was born." Erylis responded solemly.

"Your parents were werewolves too??" Avyanna queried as the Queen opened a heavily secured door, leading to a dungeon of some sorts.

"No." She laughed faintly. " You see Avyanna , My story's a bit different than the rest."

Avyanna entered a deep dark room filled with locks and chains that were uncountable.Claw marks were every where.

Avyanna touched one on the floor. "They chained you here."

Erylis sat down on a stool nearby . "It wasn't that way. " She pointed to another chair by her.

"You'd better get comfortable."

"It all began many years ago..." Erylis began. "When my father , Ferdinand Viralaine married my mother , Valerie. For many years they had not a child to call their own. My father, A kind and generous soul he was..."

She stopped. "Rest his Soul."

"He never one day , troubled my mother on her inability to produce a heir or children which was a woman's duty although he was pressured by the Courts and his Family. My mother took it upon herself ...She went to numerous healers, Sages, Diviners to find a solution to her problem but none could help her. Fortunately after numerous tries, She conceived , but it was during a heinous time. My Father's kingdom was at war with another , The Aurora Australis also known as The Southern Lights ." Erylis sighed.

"It was obvious that it was a losing battle but my proud father refused to back down. On his behalf , Valerie, my mother went to seek help from the gods. The old lady assured her that my father would win the battle but there would be a costly price.".

"That night, the enemy surrounded the Kingdom in great numbers. Inside the palace walls my father prepared for battle but a messenger arrived telling him all the enemy soldiers were dead. And indeed it was true. Ferdinand marched out the Kingdom gates only to see dead bodies covered by some mysterious fog.

My father and his men were spared. my father was happy that is kingdom was not taken nor overthrown but he never knew what gave him this great victory over his enemies but my mother the queen knew though she kept it all in.A few months later I was born into this world."

"I was once normal. Until I attained the age of fifteen years old." Erylis said.

"The age of lynathrophy." Avyanna looked at her in pity.

"I started feeling strange. Smelling things miles away, Hearing non existent sounds. My reflexes got sharper and acute. That night was a full moon. The transformation was so painful. It took hours until I finally metamorphorsed into the wolf form.That night that my Father's enemy was slain , the unspoken price was that the beast that slaughtered them would take refuge in his unborn child , bound forever till death . I murdered seven people that night ...Including a little five year old girl." Erylis tried holding back her tears but could not."

"My mother had to tell the king was she did for the king to win the battle,mMy father hearing it was devastated but he loved his wife the queen so much he couldn't blame her, things we do for those we love can be unimaginable,

they both decided to conceal it from eveyone in the Kingdom, Every year after that, my father would take me down here and chain me with the strongest steel he had made.Unfortunately my mother died and he followed soon after. Before he did , he left me my mother's journal where I learnt all this. I had been able to control it but when I celebrated my 20th birthday and ascended the throne , it all changed again. I began transforming for no reason whatsoever. Any emotion I felt ; Hyperactivity, anger , pain , adrenaline made me change and kill my own people. "

Erylis faced Avyanna . "How do I tell my people that over the years their Queen has been responsible for the murder of their sons , daughters , wives, husbands , relatives and friends?! My people will turn against each other and the Kingdom will fall. Other nations will take advantage of this chaos and this time I will not be able to fight for my people in my Wolf form .Although to me , it is a curse , but to this Kingdom , It is a blessing ." She stood up .

"If you want to slay the monster you see before you , Make haste but I beg of you , Do not reveal my secret to my people for it will cause chaos. Do only this for me , Avyanna." Erylis closed her eyes and knelt down.

Avyanna quietly stood and walked past the pleading girl. Using her blade , she tore a hole in the air and a huge portal appeared . She put her hand through it and brought out a necklace and placed it in Erylis hands.

"Here."

Erylis opened her eyes. "What is this??"

"Some other dimensional friends - don't try to understand, owed me favours and repaid me with this ." Avyanna explained. "Forged with the strongest Damascus Steel melted together with Silver." Avyanna helped her fasten it on her neck. "Whenever you wear it you won't wolf out, but at the same time be able to protect your kingdom when ever you take it off. The power is in your hands now. It isn't your fault what happened in the past but you deserve the chance to make amends."

Erylis hugged the baffled lady. How she had longed to relieve this burden of her chest . She had yearned to talk to someone about this heavy secret she had carried for years . At last she would be able to control the curse and no more be a slave to it.

Avyanna was about to depart when Erylis called out to her "You won't tell anyone about this Avyanna, will you??"

Avyanna zipped her lips and smiled.

"Its our little Secret."
