EP 54 - ROYAL COMMANDS.

Erylis went on referring now to Avyanna and her group. "I thank you for heeding to my summons . You are welcome to my Kingdom."

"It is our honour , Your Grace." Conrad bowed . He already knew how to behave before royalty as he was once ...

"You may wonder the reason why you were sent for..." The Young queen continued. "But it was the will of my people."

"We understand, Your majesty . The will of the People is the will of the Kingdom." Conrad responded.

Kyra angled her head to get a better look at Conrad . She has never seen this royal part of him before. He blended in so easily with these type of people and it was as if he had known this way of life all along. Could it be that ...

"Nah." Kyra reassured herself.

It wasn't possible.

Or was it?

"My people are unsettled due to the reports of villagers going missing. They were to be seen that day but the next ; gone in an instant never to be seen again. I sent some of my men to search the area where they had last been seen...." Erylis went on her as her soft features hardened. "But they were never found.I assumed that they had left for greener pastures but just seven days ago, This man was brought to the Palace ." Erylis signaled to her guard and he brought forth a man dressed in the clothes of Commoners .

"Tell them , what you saw." The Queen commanded .

The middle aged man nodded nervously , obviously stricken by the fear of what he'd seen. "Yesterday at dusk , Fred and I went out into the forests to do some hunting. He was able to shoot down a deer.He ran ahead to fetch it while I pulled out my skinning knife.When I had walked to where I had last seen him, but Fred was gone!.

I walked a bit farther searching for him only to found him torn to shreds be found recognition, then I saw the most gnarly and hideous beast !!! With red blood eyes and sharp fangs. My feet got cut in the trap we had set and I fell . When I looked up again , it had disappeared ."The old man ended , his hairs standing on the edge.

Erylis had the distraught man taken away and sighed.

"We've heard about your deeds and we believe that you will be able to help our People."

Conrad bowed . "We will be honoured to help , Your majesty."

Erylis gave him a soft smile. "Thank you. At my behest , you will be spending your days in my Castle. I have already made your sleeping arrangements ..."

"Your Highness ..." Kyra was about to say otherwise when Erylis put up her hand silencing her.

"No. It is the least I can offer you. This evening , A banquet will be held in your honour and as promised when you have hunted down the beast , You will be duly rewarded. "

No one could refute her words now.

It was Royal Command.

They were taken to their separate rooms which were each a little room of paradise. they sure needed their rest after such perilous journey.

But none of this was on Avyanna's mind. She had this gut feeling whenever someone was lying to her.

And that part of her was screaming that the Queen wasn't telling them the whole story.
