Siege of the Medici Family

Leon had never heard Ensis seem so panicked in his time with the sword. So he quickly grabbed his scrap armor and put it on as he ran out the door. However, as soon as he was finished putting on everything, he looked out one of the windows in the hallway which he was still sprinting through. What he saw almost caused Leon to stop and stare in horror

Leon sprinted into Erik's room and barged in not even bothering to knock on the door.

Suddenly a huge fist big enough and powerful enough to crush a human skull came rocketing out of nowhere, however, it stopped just before it reached Leon with Erik being the puncher.

"Oh it's you, Leon, thank god I stopped in time. You made the right choice coming here first."

Leon walked further into the room.

"What's happening Erik? I didn't see much, but earlier out of one of the windows I saw a black sky?"

Erik walked toward the huge bay window that was in his room, which was facing the front wall.

"Take a look for yourself."

Leon practically sprinted towards the window and his jaw almost dropped to the floor, in his eyes only horror could be seen.

Outside a huge black sphere had seemingly surrounded the entire Medici mansion, including all the walls and the entire property. The wall itself was an even bigger surprise. On the wall, a bunch of Medici family guards was already down, with blood puddling on the wall. Some were still fighting against a bunch of figures who had a black cloak on that covered a majority of their face and their entire bodies. The entire cloak itself was pitch black except for a small logo that can be seen, which was an eight arrow design that shot out in a radial manner.

What came next was a loud sound. On the top of the wall, one of the guards who was missing a leg managed to climb to the bell and started ringing it furiously. This continued until he bled out with a river of blood flowing down the stairs required to climb to the bell.

However by this time, the entire mansion was awake, and an almost army of guards came from the other three walls, and outside the room, Leon was in, he could hear guards running through the hallways with their metal soled boots clanking on the marbled floor.

One of the guards that ran by was shouting.

"The six of you go get Young Master and rendezvous with the rest of the guards, I am going to meet up with the commander. Don't worry about getting Master either, he went out into the city before the darkness went up, because of an issue with a contract."

With that, a flurry of footsteps followed, with not a single person questioning or hesitating on the order.

Leon spoke with a shaky voice full of trepidation.

"E-Erik what's h-happening?"

Erik by now had already grabbed a bag, which he had carried the entire trip but never opened, and looked out the door one more time before heading towards the door.

"I have no clue, Leon. All I know is that when the black sphere originally popped up, the guards were already alert and tried to break past the sphere. However, it seemed like the sphere was meant for keeping people trapped within, because even with his weapon, which broke upon impact. He couldn't break the sphere. The moment he finished his test a bunch of people with those black cloaks sprung out and without a word killed him. They seemed to be using a variety of techniques, but I sensed on all of them a presence of evil and dark magic. Come Leon we will go to where the guards are meeting up."

Erik immediately set off like a thunderbolt and only slowed down so Leon would always be within sight of him. Although Leon was lost in the house, Erik had already remembered the entire north side of the house when he first walked through. So he immediately went down the stairs and into the front room where the front door was located.

Already in the front door, a plethora of guards was running through the front door and lining up outside in lines like an army. They lined up to form four square-shaped formations each with already thirty or so men, with more still pouring in.

Erik and Leon had already run outside and two soldiers who weren't in the square formations or in a typical uniform but in two unique armor sets looked towards them.

The girl soldier eyed them questionably and shouted.

"Who are you guys?! Are you a part of those black-clothed people?"

Before Leon, Erik, or one of the familiar guards could speak up, a familiar figure had walked through the front door with six guards in tow, it was Aman.

"Commander stand down. They are friends of mine and powerful fighters."

The girl commander and the guy commander, both saluted and the girl stepped forward.

"Sir. If that is the case, I must thank them for being here, since we need all the fighting power we can get."

Aman walked next to Erik and Leon.

"May I introduce you two to the two commanders of the Medici family guards. They are both ex adventurers and retired at the lowest of B-Tier. They are the strongest guards here."

The girl commander gave a nod.

"The names Susan."

Susan was still quite young and looked to be in her late 20's. She had brown hair and was average height for women in Partha at about 152cm (5'2ft). Also what was notable was that she was quite good-looking, although she couldn't approach the peak known as Emilia. She was still quite cute.

The male commander didn't say anything but gave a grunt and a nod. He didn't necessarily have any notable features, besides that he seemed quite old at around 50, but since his powers weren't at a high enough level he still aged normally compared to Erik who was 70 but didn't look his age.

Erik looked at the wall, which at this point had completely fallen to the attackers and all the guards were either on the verge of death or dead.

"Why haven't we done anything yet?"

Susan stepped forward.

"Although it is unfortunate that the guards on the front wall died, there is nothing we can do. The moment one of the group leaders died on the wall we activated a protective barrier. Most of the group leaders are somewhere between low D-Tier and high D-Tier adventurers, if they fell how would some of the weaker guards fare? Anyways they shouldn't be able to break through the barrier, it's a custom barrier stone that could block even attacks from myself."

Leon stared at the visible blue barrier that had surrounded the property of the mansion, besides the walls. The barrier was a navy blue that had many complex inscriptions on the shield that looked like a foreign mystical language. However, he had an ominous feeling about what was to come.
