Preschool was a nightmare for Yuki not because it was hard but because Yuki was so damn popular. All the other children constantly wanted to play with him. The boys wanted to play various child games with Yuki, while the girls wanted him to pretend to be their knight in shining armor while they pretended to be princesses.
It was absolutely annoying, but Yuki grit his teeth and put up with it.
When his mom picked him up, Yuki cried with joy when he saw her. He was really glad that his escape from hell arrived.
Yuki and his mom were having a wonderful conversation while walking home when Yuki noticed the park that was about a block away from their home. "Mom, can I go to the park?" Yuki asked, hoping his mom would let him go because that way he could start his training.
"Sorry, Yuki, mommy has to go back to work, I'll take you to the part on my day off. I promise." His mother said with a tired smile on her face.
Yuki's heart ached, hearing her tired voice and seeing her tired smile.
Deciding not to add to her worries, Yuki decided to accept her offer. "Thanks, mom." Yuki smiled up at her.
Reiko smiled, seeing her well-behaved son. She's already seen the tantrums other children have thrown when they didn't get their way. Her Yuki never acted in a such manner, which always made her proud of her little boy.
"It's a promise." Reiko replied.
After Reiko dropped Yuki at the apartment, Yuki knew that he could not stay here. So, against his better judgment, Yuki left home with the spare key in order to start practicing.
He remembered where the park was, so he quickly ran there, getting a headstart on his training.
Once Yuki reached the park, he immediately looked around, getting the lay of the land.
The park was big, but not too big. It had your standard sandpit, swing set, seas saw, and slide
'Hmm, since I don't have a bat or a baseball, I should start training my body in the meantime.' Yuki thought to himself, noticing all the big rocks laying around.
Yuki first started with running to work on his stamina. He ran, and he ran around the park until his body was dripping with sweat.
When he felt that he couldn't run anymore, Yuki moved on to increasing his strength by lifting weight. Yuki collected big rocks and would start lifting them up and down, starting with the biggest rock and then moving onto the smaller ones whenever he got tired.
Yuki continued alternating between running and lifting until he couldn't any longer.
*Hahhh! Hahhhh! Hahhhh!* Yuki breathed heavily while laying on the ground after he finished his training.
'That was rough.' Yuki complained, his body aching from his workout.
While on the ground, Yuki noticed the sun was setting, meaning it was time for him to return home before his mother noticed that he was gone.
So Yuki dragged his tired body off the ground and made his way home.
After he went inside, Yuki immediately collapsed onto the couch. 'I'm sure I'll improve rather quickly. With my new body, I'll definitely be the best.'
From that day onwards, Yuki had continued his routine of running and lifting weights day after day determined to be the best.
Months passed, and Yuki had noticed a problem.
While his body was improving, he still had no skills in baseball. This led him to ask his mother for a bat and a ball for his birthday.
She agreed, and for his birthday, he got a used metal bat and a used baseball. He could instantly tell that they were both used, but Yuki didn't care. He was just happy to receive anything at all.
After thanking his mom, Yuki asked her to go to the park, where he started playing with his gifts.
As Yuki pitches against a wall in the park, a feeling of excitement rises within him.
'I've missed this, I've missed playing.' Yuki thinks to himself as a wave of nostalgia hits him.
Yuki's love for baseball had not died down even in his new world.
'Watchout baseball, I'm coming for you.'
