TAA Chapter 1 - The Tribute to the Abyss

Not like the usual days, the colorful elven Kingdom is now in its collapsing state. This happens once every century. The elves has to offer an elf with sacred blood to the dark abyss to save the kingdom. It is also a symbol of respect to the abyss since they protect the elven kingdom from unwanted intruders so it is important that the elf who is going to be offered is willing to be offered to satisfy the abyss. All the family with sacred blood in the elven kingdom has already offered one of their precious fruits to the dark abyss for the past centuries except one, the Esgalwath family.

The Esgalwath family has two fruits, Selena and Karina. It's in the elves' tradition that the first born is the one that must be offered. Karina was the first born of the Esgalwath family. She has already accepted her fate the moment the elven kingdom started to enter its dark age again but she was unfortunately fortunate. 

On the day of the tribute, Karina went ill and couldn't perform the ritual well. The abyssal witches got mad and wishes for the elven kingdom to collapse as soon as possible but Rowena Esgalwath, the mother of Karina and Selena step up and asked for the abyssal witches time. The abyssal witches agreed to held the ritual by next week and see if Karina would still get better.  But there is no sign of Karina recovering, instead, Karina's illness has gotten worse. Selena was the only choice to save the elven kingdom.

Rowena got to convince Selena and the abyssal witches agreed to it as well. On the day of the new held tribute where selena is the one who performs the ritual, the abyssal witches accepted the offering and so, the elves sang and danced with rejoice.

Selena was obviously not happy but it's the only way to save the kingdom. Karina asked for apology and promised Selena that she will take her back to the Elven kingdom.

After a small feast, the abyssal witches decided to leave with Selena but before they did so, they clarify something

"We wanted first born sacred bloods but thee have given us what is not due. We have agreed to accept it. But we will not guarantee peace in your kingdom anymore. From now on, defend your own ground" said Pisces, the queen of the abyss.

"what does that suppose to mean? we have offered you scared blood it's your mission to protect us!" Dulind, a widower king of the elves complained.

"you are nothing but a mere elf compare to the abyssal queen"

Darkness filled the atmosphere. All the elves were blinded and unable to hear. Right after a very strong force that partially destroyed the place which marks the departure of the abyssal witches, the elves were now able open their eyes and can hear again. But it's just so depressing to not see their King's tragic and sudden demise

"what should we do now?"

"who will be our new leader?"

"will we still be able to live?"
