Everyone here, a veteran of the battlefield, apathetically watched, as multiple arrows pieced into the young maid's back.
And amidst that, no cry was uttered from the maid. Let alone a cry, not even a muffle was uttered. Only her body twitched and trembled, a sign that she at least felt the pain. She just bore with it.
A feat quite commendable for a mere maid.
Yet passable for a former torture victim.
Adelaide once more thought, as from her distance, she felt the life within the young maid's body drain itself out.
As if each arrow was sucking her very life-force, she did not last long, before she was breathless.
Within seconds, she was now a corpse.
And as there was nothing too special about her, her appearance, activities or of such, her death was readily accepted.
Nobody pitied her.
