Chapter 2: To hell with heroes

I had recently woken up to a cyberpunk world but this one is a bit odd, magic still exist here and my stats haven't changed but our history and races are all different. Orcs, elves, dwarves and all magical creatures exist here and technology has also advanced. The city is big, sky scrappers everywhere but it looks cluttered, there's neon lights and technology everywhere. There are no flying cars but the place is filled with gangs and run down buildings.

I wander around trying to find out more about this place and why i don't remember much of what happened after i obtained my power. I hear a voice in the back of my head telling me how to use them, usually I'd be scared but I don't feel anything, maybe these powers have that effect on me. I don't know what happened to the lady in black or why the world is like this, so i decide to explore. As I wandering around the city, I notice a giant TV screen attached to one of the old buildings. "Missing kids case, 3 years later" it was a news broadcast featuring all my classmates, Yuki, Marcus and yet I was the only one pronounced dead. The rage begins to set in, they tried to take everything from me, I still had no idea why but I was going to make them pay.

I continue to watch the broadcast and see that the disappearance was blamed on our teacher mrs Green. She told the media exactly what happened, how we were transported to a different world and the one we returned to is completely different but the court called her crazy and sent her to a mental institution. It turns out they had all arrived 3 years prior to me, so my first move was to find her and learn more.

I ask around about the institution and eventually find my way there. The institutions is an old abadoned hospital with barely any maintenance, no one should ever be sent here. I enter the and walk up to the counter and ask to see mrs green and tell them I'm her nephew. I walk into the room and see her starring out the window, she looks worse than i imagined, she loved teaching us, it was her pride and joy. Now she looked broken, her hair was a mess and there was no life in her eyes, "You're not insane" I tell her, she slowly turns her head towards me "A... Acacius", I nod my head and ask her what happened, she told me the demon king was defeated and a lady in black had appeared. The lady had spoken to Marcus privately and then a white flash teleported them to this world. It seems that our worlds and our history had fused, creating this new fantasy/cyberpunk world.

She told me that the world is split into different sections, section 1 is for the rich its like living in the fantasy world, only the rich live there which is mostly elves and humans. section 2 is the main city a cyberpunk area where crime is high and police are corrupt. the 3rd section is known as the high town, where the king and princess lived, a heavily fortified town with cops everywhere. the 4th and final section is the Academy a place where everyone goes to master combat, magic and technology but you need to obtain a permit to enter.

Mrs green grabs me by my arm and with tears running down her face she says "I blamed myself for your death", I explain that Yuki and the class set me up. She tells me that Marcus and Yuki had also convinced the class to blame mrs green for their disappearance so that they could blend into society smoothly, what scumbags. I spend a little more time with her and talk about random subjects, I guess all of my humanity isn't gone. After a while i finally decide to leave, mrs green has a sad expression but i tell her "I'll visit again", she replies with "please don't seek revenge" i stay silent and leave the room. Revenge is all i can think of. I need an entry permit to that academy because those scum bags will definitely be there.
