All of them were worried about Jay and that was why they were investigating the area.
Akaluman was also worried because he didn't want anything to happen to his proxy to whom he had bestowed his powers.
Usually he wouldn't worry because there would be a connection between Jay and Akaluman always which was the same with others too including Sebas, Katherine and Wolfy.
But that very connection severed and completely broke for quite some time due to which all of them got tensed.
