The Abandoned Elivette Hirsch

"Zequiel, isn't what you're doing too far? You have murdered innocent people!" The Queen exclaimed as she saw the bloodied corpses of the Palace's knights. "By giving them a quick and painless death, I've already shown them mercy. Elivette has been through a lot, and taking their lives wouldn't be enough to make up for it." "Zequiel, no life is more valuable than the other. They were merely ordered! And Elivette is still alive—" The Queen was interrupted by a chilly gust of wind before she could finish her sentence. The sword that Zequiel used to take those knights' lives is now aimed at her neck. "Don't go there Your Majesty," Zequiel warned, "The person you're referring to didn't hesitate to save those commoners lives. She is beyond comparison to your incompetent knights." "Zequiel, what is going on?" The King appeared out of nowhere, causing Zequiel to put his weapon away. "I'm taking Eli with me." "You can't do that! Her identity is still unknown! This isn't something you can decide on your own." The Queen stated as her eyes asked help from the King. The King sighed, "Celaestis, just let him." Zequiel was about to leave but then he turned back to look at his brother, "If I ever found out that it was really you who ordered to hurt her, Mark my words, I'll do the same thing to your woman." ----- Eli's goal in life is to finish college, earn enough money, and have a life of her own. Not until she woke up one day, in a different place, different setting, and in a different body. She transmigrated in a novel, in the body of a cannon fodder. The worst part? She transmigrated in the ending of the novel, where Elivette Hirsch was already removed from the Hirsch genealogy and was abandoned by her own father. Now she has to find jobs to fend for herself. But how will she live in a world that is slowly changing from what she's read?

Picking a Flower

"How about Mimosa My Lady? This flower comes in a variety of hues, including yellow, deep pink, flesh-pink, and white."

I shook my head at Penny's suggestion, "I don't want anything pink or yellow, I feel like pink is not my color."

After the performance, the hostess led us to our accommodation which is a room on the first floor. It turns out that the higher the floor you're on, the higher is your standing in Bare Elegance.

Inside the room, you'd immediately see a small stage on the side and a set of couches and a table in the middle. This is where the flower will perform for her client. Farther than that is a curtain that divides the room.

The other side is the flower's personal space.

It has a bed, another sofa and a table, a cabinet and her own bathroom.

Despite it being small, I'm glad I get to stay in a comfortable place.

However, Penny is required to stay in the servant's room with the others. Since I'm used to lying next to her like we did at our old cabin, I had trouble sleeping the first night we were here.

I've already signed a type of contract that is an at-will agreement. I did not sign a fixed term contract because I know I'd just stay here for a few months, enough to earn some money.

It is the most convenient contract for me because it allows me to leave after staying here for 4 months.

And now, Penny and I are currently browsing the list of flower names they gave us so we can choose my pseudonym.

Turns out the performers which they call ' flowers' here are called as such because their pseudonym are flowers.

Such as Lady Lilac, Lady Poppy, Lady Jasmine and such.

Additionally, I was told that the flower you choose will reflect the feeling you are giving off.

And they weren't joking when they said that.

I was left speechless and astounded when I met some of the flowers here in Bare Elegance 'cause they really seem to embody their pseudonym.

I just met Lady Orchid the other day while walking around, and just like an orchid, her beauty and her whole presence is as delicate as the flower.

Aside from that, if a flower only grows in a certain color and has no other variations, the Lady with that name will also only wear dresses with only that color.

This is why Penny and I are having a hard time picking what's my flower pseudonym. I have to consider the colors and if I embodied the flower's certain characteristics.

"You've always loved to wear pink dresses before My Lady."

"That was before Penny."

"Oh! How about Alyssum My Lady? The meaning is beautiful! Sweetness of soul. It certainly suites you." Penny suggested and I immediately shook my head.

"It sounds like Asylum, I'm worried I'll have a slip of the tongue and introduce myself as Asylum."

"Then perhaps Maltese My Lady? Its color is vivid red which is suitable for you."

"Maltese?"

Isn't that a kind of dog?

How would I feel beautiful if my name is a literal breed of a dog?

"Nah. Any other flower there?"

"How about Buttercup Lady Eli? It's a symbol of youth. This is thoroughly you because you look so youthful."

Buttercup? Sounds cute but it reminds me of the buttercup in powerpuff girls.

I shook my head at her.

"Sage it is then? It stands for honor and respect."

"It feel like I'm some kind of wizard with that name."

"Coreopsis Perhaps? It's meaning is 'always cheerful' and it's color is ranging from cream to yellow Lady Eli."

I stopped putting on the layer of the dress and looked back at her. "That sounds like corpses. Why do you keep giving me names that sound weird?"

"That's because most of the pleasant-sounding flowers are already taken by the other Ladies."

"How about Dahlia? I prefer red or white flowers."

"It's already taken My Lady."

Oh, I haven't met Lady Dahlia and haven't heard of her so I thought that flower wasn't taken yet.

"Let's just focus on the characteristics or symbols of the flower first and disregard the color for now. Any color would be fine as long as it's not pink." I stated and went back to trying to wear the goddamn dress they gave me.

Penny could help me but I prefer to start learning how to wear many layers of dresses on my own.

I don't want to rely on her with every task of mine.

"Then maybe you'd like Valerian My Lady? It's a flower that represents strength."

I looked at her and showed her my arms, "Do I look like I'm strong Penny?"

"Physically? No My Lady, But as a person? Absolutely."

She said with no hesitation.

I couldn't help but look away when I saw admiration in her eyes.

This is the first time someone told me those words. Although deep enough I know it, It's a new feeling to be acknowledged for the type of person I am.

Instead, I tend to be told that I'm a thorn by their side.

"Are there any flowers that have thorns? I feel like I'd be perfect for it." I joked.

"Oh yes I think that really represents you My Lady, as you've been through a lot of hardships."

The way she understood the thorns made me grin.

"You think so?"

"Definitely— Oh the Rose isn't taken yet My Lady?"

"It's not? How come? It's a well-known flower though."

"It's written here that a Lady has used the name Quince which is a member of the rose family before but has already resigned."

"Oh, maybe the other Ladies prefer to have a unique flower and isn't similar to any Lady."

"Then should you go with the flower Rose Lady Eli? I think it is the perfect pseudonym for you. But which kind of Rose are you?"

"Let's just go with the Red Rose."

"Red Rose symbolizes love, beauty and courage. You'd easily embody those My Lady— you don't even need to try," She stated with excitement in her voice. "Then I'll inform the hostess about your pseudonym."

Lady Rose.

Sounds good to me.
