A Lieutenant

The physic of the man in front of Kai could only be described as a wall of muscles. He looked to be in his early 40's. His beard was white and had red eyes.

The man looked at Kai for a while, until he eventually said "You're going to be late, we need to get going now"

His voice was deep and had the essence of authority. Kai didn't question him too much as he picked up a duffle bag that had the other pair of uniforms given to him.

"So what's your name, sir?" Kai asked while they were walking towards a military SUV.

"I am Lieutenant Alaric Black, I'm in charge of the rookies in the academy" He responded, stopping in front of the car.

They both got in the car and the driver started it and was now exiting the facility that Kai was in. The ride was silent for the most of it, Kai was still processing that the person in front of him was a Lieutenant; he was wondering what his power was and how strong he was.

"Hellbound in the academy they're some basic rules. First, you will address any person with more than 5 ranks than you with "sir". Second, the tablet, watch and uniform is all that's required to be in the academy. Third, and most important don't kill no one. Another thing this is more of a personal advice, I know you don't take shit from no one, but watch your back with the spoiled rich kids they're almost untouchable" That was the last thing the Lieutenant said before falling silent the rest of the ride.

Now that the ride was silent again Kai decided to look over his system he was awarded two stat points which were allocated yet. "What should I level up? He asked himself looking at his stats.

[Strength: 10]

[Stamina: 6 > 7]

[Dexterity: 9 > 10]

[Control: 5%]

He decided to put one on Stamina and the other in Dexterity, He thought I would balance him out more. When he allocated the stat point on dexterity he felt lighter, he moved his hands and could feel the difference but the same could be said for stamina.

"Maybe it's because it hit ten? Or because I haven't done anything to fatigue myself?" He questioned. Lt. Black had a confused face on his face seeing the young adult moving his hands.

"What the hell is he doing?" He asked himself but before he could ask, the car stopped in front of a huge gated wall.

Soldiers roaming the top of it kept watch, a soldier approached the car and waved at the man on top. This made the gate open, behind the gate an open green field, it went for a few miles. It seemed to end at the edge of a cliff.

A really wide bridge could be seen that stretches to a disconnected mountain in an island. It looked green and healthy.

"The military sure has money for this, oh no this is built with the money the government takes from the people right?" Kai said.

This comment earned him a dirty look from the soldier that was driving, and the Lieutenant hid his face. Kai could only see a smirk on his face.

"Is he trying not to laugh?" the young adult thought, now having a different opinion of the Lt.

The car was now crossing the bridge which had another stop with two guards. These ones weren't dressed in military uniforms, but their uniforms were completely black.

They were armed with what looked to be M16's.

"Pretty heavily secured for a school, don't you think?" Kai asked the Lt. "The military protects the outside gates, but the ones that control the security of the school are special ops.

Only Lt. are above them, and do not test them Kai. They're among the best warriors of this continent, the guns are just to show status" he replied to the young man.

"The best warriors of the continent, I wonder what level they're at?" Kai thought in excitement. Now that he had a system, the young man thought of this like a game.

The gate opened, but the car didn't enter. Lt Black stepped out and Kai followed suit. The soldier in the car turned it around and left.

"Now let me give you an official welcome, Private Kai Hellbound I Lt. General Black welcome you to the Stone Edge Academy" Black said.

After the official welcome Kai was shown where he would be staying since he was pretty late in the semester. He was given the basement of the dorm building that was fixed now like a room.

It was way bigger than any room, the only bad thing was the temperature. It was hot since there was no A/C.

Even in this heat, Kai was completely fine and not even bothered. The system sent a message that he found quite weird.

[Temperature is quite pleasing but it could be hotter]

"Is this system crazy? Any more than this and I'll get scorched" He said while reading. Another notification rang.

-Fire Resistance 10%

The notifications opened a new tab on the system called "Resistance and Immunities" opening it, he could see a couple of gray out options such as: Lightning, Water, Ice, Poison, Piercing and Slashing. Apart from that he had fire but he already had 10% there for it wasn't grayed out.

"Is this thing I can eventually become immune to?" he asked himself. "Problem is how do I improve them by being exposed to them?"

After that he decided to turn on his watch which had a number one on it, along with a picture of him.

"What's the number for maybe the year?" he put it on and went ahead and laid on his bed, who would have thought after two years of sleeping he was so tired.
