Chapter 31

"Morning sir." Silence.

I place his coffee down and gather what I need for the morning, shockingly just as I'm about to walk out, he responds.

"Thank you."

I know it's nothing big but it's one more appreciative sentence than he's said to me since ever, I turn slightly and smile at him then exit.

The rest of the day passes by quickly, and for once not at all overbearing. Mr Grey even opted to threaten me to take a lunch break rather than order loads of food like Friday.

If you ask me, today's been quite a good day and that's saying a lot when you work with my boss.

*~*~*~*

The next couple of days pass by quickly, CPS has made it's visit. Julia and I make sure to have a quick catch up of each other's day, Julio and I are slowly recovering which is great.

Like every human should, I've gotten the perfect eight hours of sleep every day. No more dizzy spells nor hunger strikes.

Things at work are good, Grey has softened up a bit. We can literally have just a small talk about whatever comes to mind, it's like that part of him that I rarely every saw is now coming to surface.

I don't know whether he look at me every minute I'm in his office, or the fact that he's started calling me by my first name should make scared if it's wrong that I don't actually mind what he does.

At least he allows me to stare at him, sometimes. Even though I don't think he's noticed.

Snapping out of it, I clear my throat to get his attention which I think I already had, I may have just gotten distracted.

"Photoshoot is in an hour, I think we should get going now if we're going o avoid any lunchtime traffic." He nods and starts to pack up.

I wait silently watching as he puts everything accordingly, he has a short OCD tendency.

After a few minutes he takes his blazer and puts it on, the cloth almost clings to big build. Tugging on the lapels he gestures to the door. "Shall we?"

*~*~*~*

We've been here for almost an hour and the photographer is still taking his time, admiring my boss.

I can't blame him though, but what I don't get is how someone can look so f*cking hot without even trying. Simple white dress shirt with a few buttons undone and the sleeves rolled up to his elbows.

Man hasn't moved a muscle yet I can tell there is a slight difference in his face each time.

He catches me staring, a smile tugs at his lips and he winks.

The photographer quickly snaps multiple photos before looking in my direction, I look away blushing.

After a few minutes the photoshoot ends, when I notice Grey approaching me I stand up with his blazer and tie in hand.

He takes the tie and unties it then stretches his hand towards me, I look up at him smiling then shake my head.

His lips quirk up in a small smile, "Do you do this to Miss Jolene too?" I ask as I tiptoe to reach his neck, he lowers his head every so slightly.

"Don't be ridiculous, I can tie my own ties." He smiles, I don't know why but a larger smile spreads across my face.

"Then why ask for my help?" I ask again, tugging at the wider part of the tie to make the right triangle.

"Why not?" I almost laugh, he goes back into his talk stance making me tiptoe even harder to fix his collar.

I grab his blazer and he turns around, I help him put it on and then fix the lapels and his tie.

"There. All you had to do is ask nicely." I whisper.

"Lunch?" He asks at the same time my stomach grumbles, I nod.

I take my purse and then we walk out to the car, he even dares to open the door for me.

We end up going to a restaurant not far from the studio, and if I expected anything like last time I was wrong. Lafayette one of the expensive restaurants I know of.

Time passes by quickly and next thing we're back at work.

*~*~*~*

The clock just struck half past seven, sighing I start to pack up my things.

Around this time, there are still a few people left and my boss has made it clear that anytime before eight I must be out of this office.

Grabbing whatever I'll decide to finish at home I lock up my office and tread to the door across mine. Knocking, I wait for the 'come in', when it does, I peek inside.

"Goodnight sir." He looks up from his paper and smiles, I stare for a moment, my heart skipping a beat before I snap out of it.

I know lately he's been more open to smiling but damn I can't get over how beautiful it is, he is.

I sort of get this giddy feeling inside when he smiles, at me, provided he never smiles for anyone else other than Nic and Noelle it makes me happy.

"Goodnight Rosaleigh." He bids, I smile and close the door.

Smiling like an idiot to myself, I walk down the empty hallway and to the elevator. I press the button and wait, meanwhile Tatiana is packing up too.

She gives me a smile faker than her tits, to say she still doesn't like me would be an understatement. From day one, I just decided to ignore everything and anything involving her.

She comes and stands besides me when she's done, after an awkward silence, the doors finally open and my eyes widen.

Shane Grey stands in the confined space, with about four other people with him. All holding briefcases and stoic looks on their faces, from my view they look like lawyers.

His eyes meet mine, (familia?), He looks intently at me before he exits and the lawyers follow suit.

I follow their marching stances, forgetting all about the leaving idea. "Are you getting in or not?" A voice snaps me our of my thoughts.

"Huh?" I mumble looking at Tatiana, she gestures to the elevator, I shake my head.

"No it's alright, go ahead." I mutter absent mindedly and go the same path the crowd went.

I arrive just in time as they all pile into Grey's office, a worried look masks my face.

I don't think anything with Shane Grey will end positively, although, compared to the son, maybe things may end well.
