Chapter 2: The Encounter

Alice and Mika were wandering around the town with Sakamoto, looking at the sights and examining the local food and people.

As Alice looked around with amaze in her eyes, she used appraisal magic that she had recently learned.

Most of the town people looked odd though Sakamoto as he stared at their tails and parts of their skin that had scales, some even had horns sticking out of the top of their head.

Alice with excitement said, "look a food stand" as she rushed Mika and Sakamoto to get something to eat.

As they were walking with the food, they had just bought a girl that looked to be around the age of 12 jumped out with a knife saying hand over the food.

Sakamoto felt bad for the little girl and as soon as he was going to hand her some of the food, she charged towards them with a killer expression on her face.

Alice quickly got in-front of Sakamoto to protect him, as Sakamoto remembered his friend Rudy's last words, he used wind magic to carry the little girl up in the air.

The security guards started to rush to the scene, the little girl with a panic dropped the knife and Sakamoto put her down, carried her and told Mika and Alice to run for it.

Sakamoto rushed to an ally to hide from the guards, Mika quickly asked Sakamoto the reason why he had helped the girl hide from the guards, and he said that she looked hungry.

Sakamoto gave his food to the little girl and her eyes shined with gratitude.

Alice asked her what her name was, and she said "Mira", as she was finishing the food she was given, Sakamoto asked why she was alone.

Mira started to tell them her story of when she was abandoned, and no one wanted to take her in due to her rare sickness that doesn't allow Mira to control her magic very well and was always causing things to blow up.

Sakamoto kindly asked the girl if she would like to be their companion as Mika quickly interrupted and said, "she just tried to kill you", Sakamoto explained to Mika that they didn't have a very good way to go around the town without being unnoticed because they were always looking so lost.

Sakamoto asked Mira if she could be their guide while they were in town, everyone agreed on one condition, that she was to remove any and all weapons she might have.

Mira handed Sakamoto and Alice several knives she had hidden in her clothes, Sakamoto asked Mira where she had gotten all the weapons she had.

Mira responded saying she was a thief and was really good at stealing hidden objects people may have, "unfortunately that isn't a good skill to have when looking for a place to work at" said Mira looking at Mika's food.

Mika handed over her food to Mira while telling Sakamoto that that skill could come in handy in their party.

Sakamoto, Alice, Mika as well as Mira headed back to the Hilton Inn, they we're staying, Yakusaba had placed them in that inn himself after explaining that not a lot of inns allow visitors.

Mira headed with the girls to take a bath while Sakamoto thought about a way, he could help Mira gain her health back to normal.

Alice stared at Mika's breast as she was amazed of how big they are.

Mika grinned and told Alice "You jealous? Sakamoto may like me more because of my big breasts", as Mira was shy looking at how both Alice and Mika's breasts were bigger than hers.

The next day Sakamoto let the girls know that he was going to see Yakusaba and that they should go with Mira to go do some training, Sakamoto reported to Yakusaba that they had taken in a little girl that had a rare sickness that impeded her from using magic.

Yakusaba stated that that was rare sickness among dragons, but very curable, Sakamoto asked how he could help and was told that alchemy is what he was looking for, Sakamoto asked Yakusaba for his help with the matter and as he was agreeing he stated that he likes alchemy quite a bit.

After their conversation Sakamoto and Yakusaba went out to look for the ingredients they needed to make this medicine for Mira, Sakamoto asked why they don't just buy the medicine directly from a store and was told by Yakusaba that medicine for dragons is very expensive and can be very easy to make if you have the right knowledge to make it.

Sakamoto and Yakusaba headed back from the shopping district where they bought a handful of herbs they would need to start.

Sakamoto grabbed the cauldron in the room and started heating it up to the adequate temperature, not too hot or the herbs would burn up, and not too cold so they could mix together.

Putting the herbs into the cauldron, Sakamoto started mixing the herbs with his magic very carefully and started fusing the herbs together.

Yakusaba was guiding Sakamoto step by step so he wouldn't make a mistake while fusing the herbs, slowly but surely, they started to fuse into a black substance.

They had finished with the potion, and started to dump the substance into a bottle, Sakamoto asked Yakusaba if he did it right, and with a smile Yakusaba said "you did a great job for your first time doing alchemy".

Alice, Mika and Mira soon walked into the room where Sakamoto and Yakusaba were in with very puffy hair and black faces.

Mira with a shy look said "sorry, I made an explosion by accident".

Sakamoto gave her the medicine he had been working on, and with a questioning face, she asked "are u trying to poison me" with a black face Sakamoto told her to drink it, that its medicine that would fix her magic problem.

Looking at him with a suspicious face she gulped it down, and with a weird face said "it tasted disgusting", everyone laughed and Sakamoto asked her to use a simple spell, and with that Mira created a small flame in her hand and was in perfect control of it.

Mira stared at Sakamoto with tears in her eyes and thanked him for what he did and promised to do her best to help him in every way possible.

Yakusaba told them that there was a dungeon that has been out of control lately and that it needed a little bit of monster control.

Yakusaba asked Sakamoto to go clear up some of the monsters in the dungeon.

Sakamoto thought about Mira and asked Yakusaba if they could use the book that lets them check for magical power, Yakusaba said that there is one on the 46th floor of the dungeon and that his book was broken, Sakamoto asked how hard it was to get there.

Yakusaba started to tell a story of when he was on an adventure and would go to that dungeon with his party, Yakusaba had a strong party though he still was no match for the boss on the 30th floor, his party suffered grave damage but was able to escape.

Yakusaba explained to Sakamoto that he has nothing to worry about because Sakamoto, Alice, and Mika are the heroes of this world and are very strong.

The next day Sakamoto and his party including Mira went to the dungeon to kill monsters, get stronger, and to find the book that reveals magical power.

Sakamoto wanted to see how strong Mira was and that book was the only way he could know.
