Chapter 34 - Morning in Hoshino Family

Several days later…

I woke up after sleeping soundly. Even after a long day of work for elementary school, training, etc. When I woke up, I wasn't tired at all. As expected of an elementary schooler with fantastic resilience, and fast recovery, this new body was fantastic. Well, even though I didn't know how aging worked since I died when I was just about to be twenty.

"Hm… again… Huh…"

When I woke up from my sleep and found someone sleeping next to me while hugging me, it was none other than my twin sister, Ruby. I observed Ruby's face, who was still fast asleep with such an innocent face. Ever since I came home from the hospital after being stabbed three years ago, Ruby used to keep her distance like a sibling of the opposite sex. Her attitude had changed one hundred and eighty degrees, and she became a twin sister who was overly caring for her brother.

What I do say it, she became a certificate brocon… in anime terms. It was a common troupe thing in anime, which sometimes feels like a funny joke or too much of an annoyance. Well, at least she wasn't that annoying, right? She was just a bit too affectionate. I guess…

However, I couldn't blame Ruby, as I rarely forbade or reprimanded her. If I was being honest, I was pretty lenient with Ruby. Like Ai, I knew Ruby as a character from manga/anime which made me understand enough about her past to make me pamper her.

I also felt sorry for Ruby in the manga/anime, and I thought she was having a hard time in the manga, which made me spoil her too. Even though Ruby doesn't have such hardships in this world, I couldn't help but inject my feelings for the other Ruby into her.

The worst of all, though, was that I didn't have a younger sister in my previous life. Still, I had an older sister who was actually... how do I put it... because she was much older than me. I remember when she came home from boarding school, she was always angry with me when I made a little noise. That's why! When I saw those cute but annoying little sisters in anime. I was a bit jealous, and to be honest, those little sisters in anime were much more adorable than the real elder sister.

Well, sometimes she gave me considerable pocket money once a year. So she wasn't that bad...

Even so, I couldn't let her pass all the time. So I pinched her cheek and pulled hard enough to wake Ruby from her sleep.

"What are you doing... Oni-chan..." Ruby said while she woke up and scratched her eyes.

"No, I should have said that. What are you doing in my bed?"

"Hm… There's nothing. I just want to sleep beside you. Oni-chan… It's my privilege as your little sister."

"Your privilege, my ass… There's no such privilege." I said those while pulling her cheek.

"Awawa… This is such domestic abuse…"

"Geez, we're already nine years old. It's time to sleep separately." I spoke like that, while at the same time, Ruby's expression really showed her dislike for the idea.

"What are you saying... I thoughtlessly did this because we were still young. It would be strange to still sleep with you when I get older. So I'll make the most of it... Or you don't want to sleep with me... Oni—chan—" Ruby replied with such a soft voice in the end. She did not hesitate to give a little touch to her gestures to make them as sweet and cute as possible.

Sometimes, I thought telling Ruby that my past self liked manga/anime was a big mistake. Ruby didn't hesitate to mimic and act like she was in a manga/anime scene. It might be pretty embarrassing to do but with her talent as an actress and the fact that she's used to starring in commercials. It seemed that she could always melt my heart with those acts.

"Geez, just don't do this too much…"

In other words, I am... myself a certificate siscon… and let her go with just a small scolding.

Anyway, I left my room, and when I entered the living room, a breakfast of toast, scrambled eggs, and a soup that was full of veggies was waiting for me. The menus always changed weekly from a Japanese-style breakfast with rice, miso soup, and grilled fish to a Western breakfast. The breakfast menu rotated because someone liked the Western style while the other wanted a Japanese style.

Meanwhile, I sat at the dining table, ready to eat the breakfast that my mother, Ai, had prepared. It may sound surprising, but Ai, who was very young when she gave birth to both of us, was not an expert cook. A natural thing for someone her age. Even so, Ai was getting better before getting busier with her many jobs and rarely cooking.

But after the stabbing incident, Ai started preparing homemade meals for both of us. However, we both understood how busy Ai was and that she didn't need to show her love in such a way.

"It's fine. Really, all of you have been good kids. And I have a lot of time… I want my child to taste my homemade food!"

Well, she had such enthusiasm that it left both of us speechless. Ai was so serious that she even took cooking lessons, which clearly improved her skills to the point where She could make food that was described as delicious.

"Eat plenty, and I make a lot after all," Ai said with a smile on her face and looked for another one. "Geez, Ruby… Are you sleeping in the big brother's room again?"

It looked like Ruby followed me and left my room.

"Un…"

"Geez, You're already grown up enough. It's time for you to separate yourself from your brother."

"Eh! No, it's not like I do it every day. Sometimes I want to sleep with my brother. It's just a twins thing."

Ruby replied with such a lie, while Ai looked at her with her face wondering what she was going to do with this kid as Ruby sat beside me going to eat her breakfast.

"Well, let's just not overdo it. Hah… I'm happy seeing my children really get along, but I wonder if they get along too much… I don't think I've ever seen them fight each other. How about you sleep with your mom?" Ai sighed, thinking about Ruby and me before she clapped her hand as she found the solution.

I didn't think that was such a good answer, either.

"Hm…" Ruby acted like she was thinking about this seriously before she continued her response. "It's a good proposal, but I like big brother more…"

"Is that so? Even though you've always been a spoiled kid in the past. Now, you're like your brother more than your mother…"

I heard their conversation while wondering if this family would be fine at all since I felt like our conversation sometimes when just the three of us were alone like this. Something that never ever happened in my previous world.

Oh, well… This is an anime-like world; maybe this was just an ordinary thing.

"Ah, by the way, the members of a new idol group will arrive at the Strawberry Pro building. Do you want to see the idol your older brother chose, Ruby?

"What!? Why don't I know this stuff!? I know about a new Idol Group, but I never heard that big brother picks it up."

"Well, you're asleep when the last time Ichigo and Miyako were here."

"Gugugu… I want to see them."

"Good. We'll see how the idol your big brother picks…"

Geez, these two were doing what they liked. I thought that while finishing my breakfast, even though I couldn't wait to meet and see Mem-cho and Sora in person too.

Yeah, I spent nearly 6 hours from morning to take the number (27), waiting to be call for my treatment and arrived in my home around 12 P.M. Well, It's what you expected from free healthcare...

Sometimes when I write this long, I feel like an urge to wanted to write something else... I just read some Mobuseka Fanfic and felt like want to write one. Lol...
