CHAPTER 70: GNOLL (2)

The next day, Excafol and Selene depart before the sun even rises. Leaving me alone with K'nor.

"Let's go, K'nor."

"Woof!"

We start our morning run. While running in the forest, I encounter more trees that I have been squeezed. At least four or five of them. Also, K'nor is restless. His fur is all dressed up, and he is really tense while we run. He keeps grunting. I also hear a loud heartbeat covering the whole forest, it so loud I can't find the exact location. We go back, and I see that the field of vegetables is completely destroyed.

"Who the fuck did that?!" There! Footprints are going in the forest after walking through the field. Huge footprints. At least four times my own foot. I put on all my gear, take my raizen, and follow the footprints. After a while, the footprints disappear, and there is another squeezed tree in front of me. Whatever did this is strong. Really strong.

"We should go back K'n-"

"Woof! Woof! Woof!"

K'nor starts barking. He is looking at something among the trees. I can discern something among the tree's leaves as well. Something like a head, with a reddish-brown color, and I also hear the loud heartbeat. It is even louder now, so loud that cannot be human. I create a bullet of crescent apocalypse and launch it in the direction of what I see.

An explosion and a horrific scream follow, so loud it must have echoed in the whole forest.

"GWAAOHHHH!!" what kind of horrible scream was that? I hear huge footsteps now, that thing is running while pushing the trees aside like they are nothing.

"Get ready, K'nor!!"

"Woof!"

Then suddenly, in front of us. A mountain. A freaking mountain! That thing is too huge. It measures at least four meters tall, massive and muscular, reddish-brown skin, yellow eyes, and black iris, a huge nose, and a white tooth coming out of the right side of his mouth. The left side is completely open. You can see what is left of his teeth there. The rest must have been blown away by my bullet. Wait. He took a fully charged crescent bullet, and all it did is removing a bit of meat on his face?!! This is bad. This is really bad.

"GWAOOHH!!"

The monster roots out a tree like it was merely placed there, and launches it at us, I evade to the left, K'nor to the right. He uses a wind ball that strikes the monster's head, but the damn thing doesn't even flinch. Looking at K'nor, it opens his mouth, and a huge rock appears out of thin air. That monster can use Angas?! That's an earth ball without mistake!! Shit! The earth ball flies towards K'nor like a bullet, but thankfully, he evades it by leaning on a tree and jumping to the other side. However, the scary part is that the earthball the monster launched completely destroyed the tree it hit, not just that tree but even the one behind it.

"One of those, and I am dead."

I run to the left arm of the monster while it is focusing on K'nor. Right before I reach it, I apply all of my elemental Angas to my raizen, and jump.

"Take that!" I strike the monster thigh using my own version of GREAT IMPACT, my fifth unique script: TREMOR. Though, it is pretty much the same as the normal one, just that I put elemental Angas to it, contrary to Selene. I hit the monster with all my strength. But…

My weapon simply bounces off, breaking my balance. How can a monster's skin be so hard!!

"Gwaooh!!"

"Shit!" Before I can even land, the monster punches me hard, so hard I am sent flying in the air, above the forest, to the clouds. Thankfully, I did manage to block his attack in the nick of time, or I would be dead for sure. How can a monster be so powerful that it can send me flying so up high?

While I am free-falling, I try to remember Excafol's explanation on how to fly. It is the best time to use it. I use wind and light Angas first, imagining that I want to float just I did all this time in the white space, although it slows down my fall, I am still falling. Then thinking about how my weapon becomes heavier when I use earth Angas, I imagine the reverse scenario. Progressively, my falling speed diminishes until I stop, a bit above the forest. Finally, I can fly!!!
