The night sky, gilded with twinkling stars, veiled itself on the city full of lights. So much so that the place seemed awake despite being the nightfall.
Numerous vehicles rushed past each other, driving in quick succession, eagar to reach their homes or whatever their destination be.
The trees, their leaves paling, green fading to slight yellow, lined the hard road made of ashphalt, standing tall on the dividers. Some lining the concrete sidewalks as they stretched past, leaves rustling with the wind, close to withering.
The gradually chilling air, the slightly increasing layers of clothes, all of them served as a reminder.
Autumn had knocked at the door.
Trees were to wither, presenting themselves to the world in their leafless glory. Soon, the winter would come, perhaps carry the snow with itself.
Pedestrians waited at the sides of the road, awaiting their turn to cross them as the cars drove by under the street lights.
