Suspicious Goddess - Storm Dragon Veldora

Opening his crimson gold eyes, Shiro found himself face to face with the fearsome legendary storm dragon Veldora.

'Am I dreaming?' Rubbing his eyes, he thought.

'No you're not.' Veldora replied using thought communication, directly conveying his thoughts onto Shiro's mind.

He gave Veldora a curious glance before saying. 'I'm not? I see. So that wasn't a dream.' He nodded.

'What's wrong with this human?' Veldora couldn't help but think to himself.

The human's reaction was lackluster and relaxed that it almost seemed nonchalant, as if nothing was worth his attention.

Veldora had expected Shiro to scream and cry in fear after waking up and witnessing his majestic form, but Shiro's nonchalant reaction took him by surprise.

"You're a strange one." He told Shiro.

Shiro looked back at him. "I get that a lot." He replied as if it were the norm.

Shiro's reaction was a given because he had known all along that he'll be seeing Veldora.

After dying back on Earth, Shiro met this random, suspiciously omnipotent being which granted him a wish.

"I wish to reunite with my mother and sisters." He told the god.

"Unfortunately, I have no authority over the souls that had long passed through the river of samsara." Replied the god, making Shiro dejected.

Having his wish rejected, Shiro contemplated and started brainstorming for ideas that could help him reunite with his mother and sisters.

The god herself said that she couldn't, it didn't mean he couldn't.

Just as he was thinking for an alternate the goddess's next words drawn his attention back to her.

"How about I give you a power that will grant you the possibility of reuniting with your love ones but whether you succeed or not solely depends on your capabilities." He suggested.

Sounds suspicious.

Shiro gave her a dubious look which made her flinch.

"Is there a catch?"

To his words, the goddess avoided his sharp piercing gaze.

"What is it?" Shiro pushed.

"You'll have to enjoy your life to the fullest." The goddess said, trying to hide her embarrassed expression.

Shiro did not get her aim, but her words, however, made him recall his own mother's words on her deathbed.

"Live and enjoy your life to the fullest." Her hands on his cheeks as she told him with a gentle motherly smile brimming with affection and care.

"I will do just that." He said to the goddess.

Hearing his words the goddess beamed smiling brightly like the sun.

'She's one strange goddess.' Though he still felt suspicious about the goddess, Shiro decided to just shrug it off and focus on what's more important.

"What kind of power will you be giving me?" He asked.

"It is the power to traverse between realities." Her reply was fast.

"I see." Shiro suspected as much.

His mother and sister's we're probably scattered throughout to who knows where.

Though chances of him reuniting with them is less than 0.1% but so long there's still a chance, Shiro wouldn't give up on that small hope.

"I will go with that." He nodded developing a genuine smile.

The goddess smiled as well, though one that was clearly a bit awkward due to her shy demeanor.

Shiro couldn't help but be curious.

Though it's the first time he had met her he has this bugging feeling that they've knew each other for so long.

And not just any simple acquaintance.

The feeling is quite similar to the familial love he has for his family.

So he decided to ask the goddess. "Why, are you trying to help me?" Not that he expected the goddess to answer his question.

EH-

Hearing his sudden but reasonable question, she was taken aback, she began shuddering looking left and right as if trying to ask for help.

"I will be sending you now."

She avoided the question.

Definitely suspicious.

If she didn't want to answer him so be it.

But-

"Wait, where do you plan to send me?" Shiro hurriedly interrupted her.

"Ah, right, we have yet to set a destination for your starting point." Palm on her forehead she reprimanded herself.

Shiro already came up with a plan to grow strong fast.

"Send me to Veldora's cave of imprisonment two years before the cannon story starts."

"That's a good idea, uncle Veldora-." She paused in her words and started drawing runs in an extremely fast phase.

And before Shiro could react his vision blanked.

Observing his status that took a holographic game like form thanks to his Unique Skill – Insight that functions similar to Rimuru's Unique Skill – Great Sage, Shiro developed a satisfied smile.

He befriended Veldora and received the name Shiro which he specifically had requested from the dragon.

He doesn't plan to part ways with his old name he had received from his beloved mother.

Veldora agreed without much of a thought to it.

The dragon also imparted a lot of information to him regarding this world.

Though most of the information is something Shiro had long known, after all he had read the novel up to volume 9, yet despite that Shiro still listened to the dragon's every word.

"So do you have any plans after you leave the cave?"

Veldora found Shiro to be the serious type, and so he decided to act as one as well to not embarrass himself, not knowing that despite Shiro's somewhat stern behavior, in truth the latter is a jovial and easy-going fella.

The reason for his current behavior, however, was due to the heart ache he was currently feeling after being betrayed by his old friend who poisoned him and caused his death.

"I plan to acquire combat experience through traveling this world before embarking on a journey to search for my family."

Knowing the dragon Shiro had truthfully told Veldora about his power which allows him to traverse different worlds and his goals to gain the dragon's trust.

And it bore fruit as Shiro could feel his connection with Veldora becoming stronger and sturdier.

"I see."

"Don't worry I'll be paying you a visit once in a while."

"You can have this instead for the meantime."

Using [Material Creation] relying on his Unique Skill – Insights prowess Shiro recreated the manga and novels in his memories similar to what Rimuru did for Yuuki.

Shiro on the other hand doesn't need papers because he could create it from thin air just by expending his magicules.
