John's attention sharpened at Roy's words. "Who is it, Roy?" he asked, curiosity piqued.
"They didn't give a name, sir, but they insisted it was important," Roy replied, his voice steady but with an undercurrent of concern.
John frowned, considering his options. "Alright, let them in. I'll meet them in the foyer."
He quickly changed back into his suit and made his way to the grand entrance. As he approached, he saw a figure standing just outside the door. The silhouette was unfamiliar, but something about the stance suggested urgency.
John opened the door, his eyes meeting those of a middle-aged man with a serious expression. "Good evening. I'm John. How can I help you?"
The man stepped forward, his gaze steady. "Good evening, Mr. John. My name is David, and I have information that I believe is crucial to your business. May I come in?"
John hesitated for a moment but then stepped aside, gesturing for David to enter. "Let's talk in the study."
They walked through the mansion, the atmosphere charged with tension. Once in the study, John closed the door and turned to David. "Alright, David, you have my attention. What is this information you have?"
David took a deep breath, his expression serious. "Mr. John, I have reason to believe that someone within your organisation is working against you. I have evidence that suggests they are trying to sabotage your efforts and undermine your position."
John's eyes narrowed, his mind racing. "What kind of evidence do you have? In fact which organisation are you talking about? And who are you, from where? Do you know me? Have we ever met somewhere? Clarify yourself!"
David reached into his briefcase and pulled out a folder, handing it to John. "Everything you need to know is in there. I trust you'll handle this matter discreetly."
John opened the folder, scanning the documents inside. The evidence was damning, and his anger began to simmer. He knew he needed to address this situation swiftly and decisively but how sure was it?
"Thank you, David," John said, his voice cold and determined. "I'll take care of this. You can rest assured that I won't let this betrayal go unpunished. I have several ideas on how to go about it. Thank you so much but you haven't identified yourself clearly,..."
David nodded, a look of relief crossing his face. "I am David that's all...I knew I could count on you, Mr. John. If you need any further assistance, don't hesitate to contact me."
With that, David left the study, leaving John alone with his thoughts. The betrayal stung, but he knew he had to stay focused. He needed to identify the traitor and remove them from his organisation if possible but a doubting sense clouded his mind. "Is it false information? Wait... I have to countercheck..."
As the night wore on, John sat at his desk, formulating a plan. The mansion was silent, the only sound was the ticking of the clock. He felt a renewed sense of determination, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
The next morning, John woke up early, feeling the weight of the previous night's revelations. He dressed in a sharp navy suit, his mind already strategizing. He needed to handle this situation with care and precision.
However, John remembered about purchasing the plot behind his store on Huruma Street. He looked into his phone contact to reach out to the landlord—Smith. After several rings, Smith couldn't respond and the call went unanswered. John decided to look for him later on.
Over breakfast, John called Roy into the dining room. "Roy, I need you to look into something for me discreetly," John began, choosing his words carefully. "I suspect there may be some... issues within our team. I need you to monitor communications and activities closely. Report anything unusual directly to me."
Roy's eyes widened slightly, but he nodded. "Of course, Mr. John. I'll keep an eye out. I am going even to remain strict to the gateman, nobody will be allowed to enter that gate without my consent as the manager.
John piqued up, "In fact, I have to arrange and see how I am going to add in security guards. Only one is not enough Incase of an attack. That's my area of concern from now..."
Roy's eyes gleamed with determination, "Indeed, you have exactly what I was thinking about even when you had not arrived. This mansion honestly is the only mansion with one security person. We have to consider this area with a high notice."
Just like that, Roy embarked on his daily chores as John spent some time reviewing the evidence David had provided. The documents pointed to a few key individuals, but he needed more concrete proof before taking any action.
He decided to start by having private conversations with those involved, gauging their reactions and collecting more information. One by one he reached out, collecting data. Honestly, after interrogation, he felt that that was something cooking.
By afternoon, John had a plan in place. He called a staff meeting, using the opportunity to announce a new project that would require increased collaboration and transparency. His goal was to create an environment where any deceit would become more apparent.
After the meeting, John approached James, the head groundskeeper. "James, could you spare a moment? I'd like to discuss some upcoming changes to the garden layout."
James nodded, following John to a quieter corner of the mansion. "Of course, Mr. John. What did you have in mind?"
As they talked about the garden, John subtly steered the conversation towards the internal workings of the mansion, observing James's responses closely. He noticed a slight hesitation when James mentioned recent interactions with certain staff members, but it wasn't enough to act on.
Next, John spoke with Mary, the head chef, under the pretence of discussing new menu ideas. Mary was forthcoming, her enthusiasm for her work evident. Yet, John noticed a similar hesitation when she mentioned the same individuals.
By evening, John had spoken with several employees, gathering subtle clues and piecing together a clearer picture. He still lacked definitive proof, but he was getting closer.
As he sat in the study for a moment, John's phone rang again. It was Laura, the investment representative. "Mr. John, I wanted to follow up on our meeting. We are very interested in moving forward and would like to schedule our next discussion."
John smiled, appreciating the distraction. "Thank you, Laura. Let's schedule it for next week. I'll have my manager coordinate with you."
After hanging up, John felt a renewed sense of purpose. He was not just defending his position but actively building a future within the mansion and his team. He knew the road ahead would be challenging, but he was ready to face it with determination and strategic foresight.
John decided to end the day with a relaxing swim. As he floated in the cool water, he reflected on his journey so far. He enjoyed the floaters, getting the happiest moments that are usually maximised by the rich kids.
Beside the swimming pool, his phone buzzed indicating an incoming call. "Who is this cutting me off from leisure? I will call back, to me airtime is no worry, let me enjoy it to the limit."
John continued to swim for some time. However, he remained calm on the floaters to avoid any danger for he was a newbie. Suddenly, the phone buzzed again with a new message.
However, this time John couldn't hesitate anymore. "Maybe the System rebate has occurred after I had an investment in the Bloodlust Gangsters Organisation (BGO)..."
