Rooted to the ground, Lina watched Pete walk towards her with unhastened and purposeful strides, a striking smile lilting up his face and his cloud grey eyes glitteringly staring at her.
He stopped in front of her with Serena sitting in his arms, and she raised her eyes to look at him.
"Good evening, Evelina." He greeted, his voice soft and filled with a velvety texture she suddenly realised she hadn't heard in a while.
"Hi," She slowly greeted back, her voice barely sounding above a whisper, as that was all she could manage if she didn't want to ramble out a stuttering line of 'good evening' because, for some reason, her tongue felt slightly heavy.
She was surprised to see him after so many days.
"You came." She muttered a bit under her breath, and Pete nodded.
