I found myself staring at my own version of the investigation board we have back at the department. It was smaller though, fitting for me to place on the table at the living room.
A few days ago, I had scribbled down a few things that had come to light.
One, Marcus Zephanie knew Charlotte Davis, Shay Zephanie's heart surgeon mother. Though, I still couldn't figure out why he ended up killing her and her husband.
Was it jealousy?
I frowned, crossing off the possibility.
Marcus Zephanie didn't seem to be the man capable of such. True, he must have harbored feelings for Charlotte Davis, but I highly doubt that he would kill them out of resentment. That was a big NO for a research biologist.
Whatever reason he might have had, it must be closely related to what he had done for Shay Zephanie, who turned out to be his biological daughter.
Thinking about her, I still couldn't believe she tricked me.
