Chapter 7: Kyle's brother

The bullet just scratched Kyle's lower abdomen and didn't penetrate .

Kyle got lucky , he was just laying on the bed while the nurse was running some tests .

Few minutes later Mirabel walked in , she looked so exhausted .

She sat close to kyle held his arm and then laid her head on the bed.

Mirabel coundnt say anything else rather than blaming herself for all of it.

If only she hadn't suggested they went out guess he wouldn't have been shot .

She had to go and prepare for school so she left Kyle after minutes of blaming herself .

After she left Kyle's mom walked in ,with a very sore expression on her face .

Kyle : Hey mom .

Kyle's mom: You don't have to say anything , and I don't even have anything to ask you .

Kyle : mom I am sorry , it's just...

Kyle's mom : I said don't say anything .

you are all I have and you want to also put me though this pain .

Kyle : I am sorry mom .

kyle's mom: How are you feeling .

Kyle: I am ok, it's just a scratch .

Kyle's mom: ok let me go talk to the doctor .

Kyle was later discharged from the hospital and went home .

After his mom dropped him at home she left for work .

Kyle just sat there watching T.v when he heard a knock at the door .

It was his elder brother Derek , guess he also heard Kyle was shot .

Kyle's mom had already called his dad and brother to disclose the information to them .

Kyle's dad couldn't make it so he sent his brother to come see him .

Derek is 3 years older than Kyle and he was in college . When he got there Kyle was so happy to see him. Derek first intentions was to scold his brother and give him some restrictions so that something like that won't happen again but he got the opposite.

He was so happy to see his kid brother again . Kyle didn't hesitate to tell him the whole story . Derek didn't have much to say he just concluded it was just an accident and he shouldn't come back home late next time with his girlfriend.

Kyle left out some details that will lead to more questions and suspicion .

Derek always saw Kyle as the best and most behaved one among them.

when they lived together ,Kyle was always calm and lovely. Derek was the one getting into fights ,detention, sneaking out of the house and causing troubles all the time.

Around noon Mirabel, Trevor and some of Kyle's friends from school came to visit Kyle . Apparently the incident was announced in his school .Kyle introduced Derek to his friends and they were all happy to see him. After the folks have all left his house , derek also decided to go on a walk.

Kyle was alone in the house , when Bryan walked in .

Bryan : Hey my favourite partner.

Kyle: how are you doing Bryan .

Bryan: I am good ,heard you got shot .

Kyle: Yh ,yes I was shot .

Bryan :Well in my line of work ,better get used to it.

Kyle: what do you mean.

Bryan: never mind , just take this( throwing a piece of paper to him).

when Kyle opened it ,he saw a certain location and also time. Bryan has brought another job to Kyle for him to deliver Drugs again .Kyle refused because he thought it was a one time thing .But Bryan told him they are partners now and Kyle can't leave except he says so. After much arguments and disagreements Bryan showed a video in which he was delivering the drugs to the dealer . And threatened to show that to his mom and also the principal if he doesn't comply. Kyle had no choice but to accept the offer . After this Bryan told Kyle to come meet him at home and take the stuffs at nightfall .

Kyle didn't want to get mirabel involved in this and thought of what to do.

At night fall he was outside with his brother and when it was time he told his brother he wanted to go meet someone for some school stuffs.

Derek insisted in going with him because it was late but Kyle refused and wanted to go alone.

Kyle went to Bryan's house he was given a bag .He already had the location so he asked bryan for a bicycle that was kept at this side of the house so he could do it smoothly.

Kyle got to the arena and waited for the buyers to arrive and they did few minutes later . He just stood there naive looking at the men.

One of them came to him and took the bag, brought out the package and had a sniff in order to check the quality of the cocaine . while this was going on the siren of the police vehicle could be heard and the buyers got into their car and fled.Kyle quickly took the bag and got on his bicycle and left the arena but he was chased by the police. He went as fast as possibly so he could lose them but they were faster .He rode his bicycle into a very little passage where the vehicles couldn't get in dropped it at the other side of the road and then ran away to hide somewhere so he could lose the policemen .

Few minutes later he walked out after noticing there was no sign of the police and took a taxi home.

That was Kyle's mistake , the policemen were still at the area searching for him .So when they saw him they didn't chase him. It's better to wait and go meet him and his gang than getting into a chase that could make them lose him .

But Kyle didn't go to Bryan's house, rather he went home .

when he got home he just went to his room and kept the bag then changed his cloths and came out to the meet Derek at the living room.

Derek looked at Kyle for a while and asked what's wrong but Kyle refused to say anything.He just said everything was fine and he was just tired.

unfortunately , the policemen arrived at the spot and searched the house , they eventually found the bag.

Kyle was just quiet and didn't know what to say, but what surprised him was when Derek went forward to take the blame.

Kyle wanted to get involved but derek used some facial gesticulations to keep him quiet.

Derek was arrested and taken to custody. At this point kyle was disturbed ,he just walked around the room thinking about what to do.

After a while Bryan and his group of boys came to the house.The purpose of the visit was to ask for the money , because apparently the person who sent Bryan wants his money . Kyle explained what had happened earlier ,but Bryan didn't care. He warned Kyle to get the money before the next day else they will be having a different conversation the next time he visits and that will not be about money .
