Chapter 1 A New Beginning

I woke up with a start, my heart pounding in my chest as I looked around the room in confusion. Everything looked the same as it did over a decade ago. My old bedroom, my old bed, my old dresser, and my old posters were all here. What was going on? I sat up and rubbed my eyes, trying to clear the fog from my mind.

I looked at my own body, and there were no injuries. And my arms, why are they smaller than they used to be? No, not only my arms. It's my whole body that's smaller. How? Am I younger?

Sable stood in front of the mirror, taking a moment to admire his young and fit body. He was slightly surprised to see his arms and body looking smaller than before. As he looked closer, he noticed that he looked younger than his current age. He couldn't believe it. Was he really younger? He couldn't wrap his head around it.

He was a 5'6 Filipino teenager with dark hair and sharp, almond-shaped eyes. His facial features were slightly on the handsome side, with a defined jawline and a well-structured nose. He had a lean and athletic build, thanks to his regular basketball games and taekwondo training at school.

Suddenly, he felt a wave of sadness wash over him as he thought about his future self. He had seen pictures of his older self, and he noticed that he had let himself go. His belly protruded over his pants, and his hair had thinned out significantly. He didn't want to end up like that. He shook his head, resolving to take care of himself and not let himself fall into that trap.

As he looked back at his reflection, he made a silent promise to himself that he would always take care of his body and his health, no matter what.

It was overwhelming, but I tried to focus on the present. I got out of bed and walked to the window, looking out at the familiar view of the street outside. And then looked at the calendar on the wall It was April 2, 2007, a few days after my 2nd year of high school ended.

I felt a sense of dread and excitement mixed together. I had been given a second chance at life, but what was I supposed to do with it? How could I make things different this time around?

He stumbled to the door and opened it, and to his surprise, he saw his mother, Jenny Cruz, who was back to her younger self where the years of hardship and sacrifice are still not marked on her face. Tears filled his eyes as he saw his mother's younger self, and he hugged her tightly, unable to contain his emotions.

Jenny was shocked and confused by her son's sudden outburst, but she could feel the love and sadness in his embrace. She asked him what was wrong, but Sable didn't know how to explain everything that had happened to him.

I went through my daily routine such as brushing and taking a bath, trying to keep my mind occupied as I tried to process what had happened to me.

As I sat at the breakfast table with my mom, she seemed to notice that something was off about me. "Sable, are you feeling okay?" she asked and looked at me with concern etched on her face.

"I'm fine, Mom," I said quickly. "I just… had a bad dream, that's all.

She nodded, but her eyes betrayed a hint of suspicion. "Okay, if you say so. But if you need anything, just let me know, okay?"

I nodded, grateful for her concern. But my mind was racing. How was I going to explain this to her?

She seemed to accept my answer and went back to eating her breakfast. But I knew that things were far from fine. I had a second chance, and I was determined to make the most of it.

He spent the rest of the day trying to adjust to his new reality, talking to his mother about the things that happened and have long been forgotten by me throughout the years. He realized that he had been given a second chance to make things right, to change his future, and to help his family.

I spent the rest of the day exploring my old neighbourhood, he saw the poverty and the struggles that he had forgotten about. He knew that he had to work hard to improve their situation, to help his mother and his family, and to achieve the dreams that he had lost in the future. Taking in all the sights and sounds that were once so familiar to me. But now, with my memories of the future intact, everything seemed different. I saw things with a new perspective, noticing details and nuances that I had never seen before.

As the sun began to set and I headed back home, I couldn't help but feel excited about what the future held. I had a chance to do things differently this time around, to make the most of my life and make a difference in the world. Sable knew that it wouldn't be easy, but he was determined to make the most of this opportunity, to live a life without regrets, and to make a difference in the world.

With that thought in mind, I drifted off to sleep, eager for the possibilities of a new beginning.

The sun was just peeking through the curtains of my room, casting a soft, golden light across the old furniture and walls. I was lying in my bed, staring up at the ceiling, trying to process if everything that happened yesterday was real or just a dream. One moment, I was riding my motorcycle on my way home from work, and the next, I was hit by a truck and everything went black. But when I opened my eyes, I found myself in my old bedroom, in the rented house where I grew up. It took a moment for me to get up from bed, and for everything to truly sink in. I looked around the room, taking in the familiar surroundings. And then, as I was exploring my old room, I noticed something strange. A laptop was there, sitting on my desk, I clearly don't have a laptop during this period of time since our financial situation doesn't have the capability to afford this kind of gadget.

It was the same one he had with him during the accident. He hesitated for a moment, wondering if it was a dream, but as he picked it up, he felt its weight and the familiar texture of the keyboard. He opened it and pressed the power button, half-expecting it not to work. But to his surprise, It booted up instantly. He clicked on the battery icon at the bottom of the screen, and his eyes widened in disbelief as he saw the battery level at 100%. He checked the power cord, and it wasn't even plugged in. He shook his head in disbelief and muttered to himself, "This can't be real."

As Sable explored his laptop further, he noticed that the only available network was FutureNet.

Sable remembered that in the future, Wi-Fi was already a common thing, but it was not widely available in 2007. He guessed that the laptop must have some advanced technology that allowed it to connect to FutureNet.

As Sable continued to explore the laptop, he noticed something strange. The date on the laptop was set to May 1, 2023, two days after he had died in his previous life. He couldn't believe it. Was it possible that the laptop was still connected to the future in real-time?

Sable sat there in disbelief for a moment, trying to process what was happening. He felt a mix of emotions, from excitement to fear. Excitement that he could potentially have a way to communicate with the future, and fear of the unknown consequences that might come with it.

He couldn't resist the temptation and opened up the browser. To his amazement, it loaded a news website from 2023, showing headlines about new technologies and advancements in various fields. Sable couldn't believe what he was seeing. It was like he was transported back to the future.

He realized the potential of the laptop, and the possibilities that could come with it. But he also knew that it was a dangerous tool, and he had to be careful with how he used it. Sable decided to keep the laptop hidden and not tell anyone about it, at least until he could figure out how to use it without drawing too much attention to himself.

With his mind racing and a newfound sense of purpose, Sable knew that his life was about to change in ways he couldn't even imagine.

As he continued to use the laptop, he also noticed that the battery was not draining at all, despite not being connected to a power outlet. He tried to look for a charging port, but there was none. He wondered if the battery would never drain and if the laptop was powered by some kind of advanced technology.

Sable couldn't help but feel amazed and curious about the laptop's capabilities. He wondered what other surprises it had in store for him.
